Can Wood Cut Wood?

We made some saw blades out of wood and then put them to the test to see if they could cut wood. It also cut metal.

What if you were water-cooling the wood blade? Lots of metal-cutting machines already include a spout that shoots milky water (water with lubricant) onto the cutting area, maybe you can fit the wood blade to one of those machines and see if it lets you cut much faster. I don't think the wood would get particularly wet because at the speed you're going the water will basically turn to steam at the cutting surfsce.

Im somewhat surprised that first blade didn't cause a fire because to make a friction fire, you only need like a fraction of that rubbing speed (I assume).

Should've used epoxy mould release when you were making that 5 layered blade, it would've made it much easier to remove the wood that was sandwiching it, just for next time :)

Prolly get better results with the hardest wood and epoxy and thoroughly clamping it; though the blade being made of composite material kinda disqualifies it from being a wooden blade.
