ABOUT DANNY

Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

I keep watching this and have decided that this is the single best golf instruction video I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot.

I discovered this method for swinging the golf club a couple years ago. I completely agree with the methodology you use and the idea behind it. Its more of a trebuchet turned upside down but your subscribers get the idea. The most important thing for anyone reading this is to understand that you are releasing tension in the arms on the take away. Love your explanation and presentation, Great video!

I used this method on my round on Saturday morning and it made a huge difference with respect to the accuracy and distance of my drive. I did initially feel like I was giving up a bit of control but the release of the tension in my grip naturally released the club head. Thanks Danny for this video you have helped me. Can you address how/if this concept can be applied to the iron play.

I stumbled across this same technique by trial and error a few years ago. I had started swinging again after a few teenage attempts with little success 50 years ago. I'm 65 now. I hit a thousand balls at a free driving range before I finally started what I called "throwing the club" at the ball to generate more power...because I had none. It totally changed my swing for the better. I also was watching the Olympics and noticing how effortless the women's swings were. So now I swing as smoothly as possible with the idea of speed on the downswing and throwing the club, or catapulting it, and have very consistent and semi-long drives. Certainly much better than anything I had before. So, it's super cool to see this video and to have "my" technique validated.

Years ago, an instructor told me about Gary Player recommending "releasing at the top." I didn't really understand it at the time, but when I watched this video and applied what you talked about today, I totally get it now, or at least I think I do in that you have to absolutely release the tension in your wrists, especially at the top of your swing; otherwise, you won't create lag. And you were right... It felt incredibly "wristy" to me at first, but once I got the timing down (and slowed my motion to allow the club to come around), wow! What a difference! Thanks so much!

Watched this video in the morning whilst having my breakfast before work. Went straight to the driving range from work and applied what I could remember and my drive was 10x better! A good 50+ plus yards on some occasions! Thanks for the tips 👍🏻

Genius, hit my driver further than ever at the range tonight. You break down the swing so well and your instruction is very easy to understand. Thanks Danny!

Ever since a (bad) golf instructor accused me of "flipping the club, " I've been trying to steer it through the swing. As a result, my drives are about 200 yards, with every other club correspondingly short on distance. I'm looking forward to practicing this catapult method. Really excellent video.

Danny, thank you SO much, I feel like this lesson is so fundamental in helping us all understand how the tour get their club head speed and how the hips/body move in response to the club. What a lightbulb moment! Thank you again, legend!

Danny, this video is the final coffin for my nasty driver slice.
I have watched several of your videos about how to set up the driver
How to do an inside swing
How to properly turn
Did watch and followed all of these and the nasty slice was still standing strong, then i finally found this video of yours.
"LET GO"
"HEAR THAT SOUND?"
It was so hard for me to let go because i wanted control, but when i did, it was so effortless. Easy 200+ yards down the range. Motion so fluid. It just felt good. I felt "FREE". FREEDOM from my tense swing and slice.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤

Great lesson! I just recently picked up on this from a Mark Crossfield video where he talks about feeling like you throw away the wrist angles early. As you do, he says it’s a feeling, not what really happens.
I’m 76 and this really works. For me, I have to focus on holding the club mostly in the fingers with soft wrists. Doing this has added 20 yards to my drives but it also helps the club square up and take extreme curves out of the shot. Still working on iron play. Thanks for the lesson.

Yes Danny. Tried softening my grip and loosening my swing at the range today and it was night and day. Felt counter-intuitive at first then really noticed how the speed through the shot naturally increased. The reduction of "pushing" the ball through also helped stop slice on my drives. An interesting and revelatory day. Cheers!

Hi Danny with the new reverse engineer method you helped me develop for my self; the catapulting of my club and the feeling I am releasing my club early with my trail hand come easier for me then ever before. And yes, you and John Henby of Australia who also advocates for the feeling of early releasing of the club has catapulted my game to a new height. Since golf was invented in the Middle Ages when Leonardo DaVinci was born I would imagine he may have been among the first people on earth to try a game of golf. After all he was an inventor of machinery and one of the first to study the body as well. People should understand that you are not teaching as other PGA instructors might teach; but, as far as I am concern you are one of the best. Thanks.

Great Video Danny. Watched it this morning and went straight to the range. Added 20 yards in less than 10 balls. The catapult visualisation helps so much. I normally come over the top and although I square the face I struggle to to create adequate launch angle. This does it all! Increased ball speed and higher launch. Broke the 300y mark on several occasions! Thank you.

I agree 100% with this video. I’ve been telling people the same thing. The stiffness that I see in people at the range is mind-blowing. They are trying so hard to do “the proper swing technique” but it’s making the swing so unnatural.

Thank you Danny. With thousands of golf instructions on Youtube, I find yours the most useful and precise. I understand your explanations and enjoy watching all your other instructional videos.

Thank you Danny this video coupled with the "up down and around" video has given me a completely different swing thought. It has encouraged me to relax more at setup, giving me a feeling of a more powerful swing with less effort. Great instructions Sir, thank you.

Great advice. I had a teaching pro tell me basically the same thing back in the 1980’s and it made a huge difference in my drives. I was hitting line drives with a 10 degree loft Taylor Made driver about 250 yards. Doing what you say added 25 to 30 yards and I was hitting the drives about as high as a full swing with a 9 iron. Breaking the wrists early also made me a lot more accurate with the shorter irons and got my pitching wedge up to about 140 yards at a full swing. Love the channel and the advice.

Wow danny, 1057 comments! What can i say that hasn’t been said before? I’ve tried a lot of different stuff, but this idea was an almost instant success. I always liked the concept of ‘swing the club’ and your body wall get in the right positions. I think this drill teaches us how and when to accelerate the club. I love the idea that your body moves in response to the club. Brilliant!!

Very leading edge. Having watched A LOT of golf videos - I would say this is really the most effortless - and powerful - way to swing. Most instruction inadvertently results in a release that is way too late - and unneeded tension. Once you do this technique a few times - It becomes obvious how the Pros (especially the Ladies) look like they are swinging so easy - yet hitting it so far. Thanks!
