When on deadline, there's no time for these formalities. There's a Mason here at our settlement, who can do the same, just w/ the help of a brick hammer in an instance; and the split is much accurate 😁

TLDR - Measure where you wanna cut, draw a line and hit with a chisel along the line til it splits

use a circular saw, just change the blade with the one that cuts concrete or bricks. Way more simple than this crappy technique
