I took a Medical Anthropology course in college that was taught by a professor who did a lot of work in Africa. She used to talk about a study where do gooder westerners would come into rural African villages and dig wells next to the village so the women wouldn't have to trek so far. All the women would complain incessantly and eventually sabotaged the wells. When asked why, they stated that the long trek to collect water was their only escape from the constant demands in the village and time to themselves during the day.

As someone from Africa, I cant even imagine what it's like living in the most free and privileged country in the world that in order to talk abt women's inequality in America, u have to go across continents to look for women living in the most rural part of Africa, take them as a reference, and complain how much American women are not equal with men. Like, it's just beyond me sometimes how ungrateful and spoiled u ppl are.

About the child pride thingy, it’s not even related to Islam to be honest, it’s a bad cultural practise, most of these child prides are forced to do so, while it’s 100% clear in Islamic fundamentals that female can not be forced Into marriage, fundamental Muslims are not the ones who do these awful forced marriages, rather it’s those who follow their cultures that has parted away from fundamental Islamic teaching more than the religion it self.
