This is one of the best reviews and opinions I've seen so far for the a6400! You know, the majority of the people who are vloggers and videographers expected something different and that I understand but that negativity in the comments and in some YouTube channels confuse the majority of the people who are interested in buying a new camera! Not everyone needs IBIS or even know what IBIS is for, not everyone wants to vlog and shoot professional video with S-log profiles, etc. What about the average user? What about the photographers? 90% of all these videos focus on video features, they barely talk about photography! These are cameras who can take amazing photos! How can you direct someone who wants to buy a new camera for photography by being negative about the specs? I think all cameras that have been released lately can do wonders. It's just that some people are stuck with the specs! Thanks Max for your honest opinion. I would buy this camera too and I believe if you're looking for a camera right now, the a6400 is the best APS-C under $1000!

As an A6300 shooter I low key like the A6400 more than I expected. I reckon the best lens is the F4 18-105mm for this body with no ibis, i am so happy the battery life and overheating is much better. Smallrig cage with fix the hot shoe offset for the mic

I appreciate your honest opinion, but as a current a6500 owner I see no reason to upgrade (downgrade?) to the a6400. The day Sony has a fully articulating screen, headphone jack and a bigger battery is the day to switch.

So excited to replace my a6000 with this as my travel camera. The main feature I wish I had was the joystick. I was hoping the joystick would be standard on all Sony bodies now, but I can work with this. It has touch to focus.

Max I knew the a6400 wasn’t as bad as the criticism it was getting. I love you said it would make a good b or c cam, plus using a lav mic to overcome the hot shoe covering the screen is ingenious.

Thanks for pointing out the little things that are different in this camera. I use auto iso all the time on my a6300 and it frustrates me that it doesn’t always show which iso it’s choosing.

Another great video Max. I found this hard to watch because of the lack of stabilisation. The wobble was horrible. Sticking to the GH5... 😀

I think that GoPro 7 Black was able to get super good stabilization in that small camera I thought why couldn't Sony able to have stabilization in this.
If A6400 had it I would have bought it for sure. I use G8 right now I will stick with that for awhile.

canon 80d doesn't even have 4k or ibs or 120fps or many more things and people worship it ! and it's in same price !!!! so why everybody now wants 4k60 or ibs from a camera that's only 900$ ??? that's what panasonic puts on it's 2000$ camera not a budget friendly beginner camera like a6400…. i mean chill people !it's hands down the best camera for people on budget and if you have lots of money and want best of the bests just wait for a7000 and then if it doesn't have 4k 60 or ibs or many other things then you have all the rights to attack it because it's not a budget camera!!!!by the way don't forget this camera has a9 color sience and some other things from a9 which is a huge plus for it
