Hi Sam! Thank you for educating us about Rolex. I recently bought a Rolex date 15200, 2002. The watch was in perfect condition, however the sapphire glass had a minor scratch so I decided to take it to a local watchmaker who works with luxury brands like Rolex, and omega. He said he is going to replace the sapphire crystal for another unique crystal, he mentioned that a couple of years ago he purchased inventory from someone else. How do you distinguish an OEM sapphire glass(2002) vs a sapphire glass (aftermarket)? If I take this to a Rolex store. Are they able to recognize if a sapphire glass is not made by Rolex or not? Once again my watch’s year is 2002. I will truly appreciate your help :)
