Spyderco is about performance, not flash. Let’s face it, people who are buying with their eyes, or are doing “material math” are not the target audience. Spyderco’s heat treatment is superior to other brands. Their S30 is better than anyone else’s with exception of Buck, so it cost’s more, because it takes more care and time to manufacture. Yes, they are well worth the money from a performance and build quality standpoint. Other brands give more features on the spec sheet, but it’s a silk hat on a pig. People are spending less for perceived quality which is fine if you’re only bout looks.

What I love about popular knives is the ability to make them unique. There are many manufacturers of scales on the market. You can also change the clips and hardware.

Dude’s spot on here, can’t go wrong with a Spydie. Spyderco military 2 in cruwear is my fave knife of the year.

After xollecting and handling a lot of brandsnover the years, spyderco is consistently top tier from fit and finish to overall value.

The Military 2 has become my favorite folding knife of all time.

My Spyderco Exclusives end up being my most carried EDC. A little bit of pocket julery, but still a working knife.

Spyderco is one of the few companies worth purchasing in 2024. They make well designed knives for ergonomics and use, in materials that are treated well. Their sprint runs are great, no one else makes knives in so many steels, ground so well. I recommend getting an endura, or stretch 2 in K390. It’s an ugly user.

I didn't appreciate my Spyderco knives until I put deep carry clips on them. It makes them way easier to pocket due to their unusual height.

I love Spyderco. It’s at least one of my favourite knife brands - if not my favourite one.
My start with them was the same, btw. „What is that? That’s weird.“ But once you have held and used them, you start to understand.
They really fit into my hand and I love that they experiment with different steel. And their CQI approach is top notch.
But they need to be careful not to follow Benchmade with their pricing. The price tag of the new Bodacious is ridiculous.

BTW, I instantly followed your account. Good job!

My two cents: Spyderco’s made in the USA knives are still worth purchasing, their other stuff is only worth purchasing if you want to just add a Spyderco, but for the price: CJRB, Kizer, and Kershaw are making better products for the same price (overseas).

My “go to” American made knife. Shaman, PM2, Para3, Manix 2, Yojimbo, Lil’ Native, is all you need. Good quality, made in the USA. YMMV

My favorite Spyderco is the Native 5 lightweight. It’s very light, takes up virtually no pocket space, and the back lock is solid. The only thing I dislike is the pocket clip, but deep clips can be found easily.

As a collector standpoint, Spyderco is my favorite. I love their exclusives, sprint runs, and multiple steel offerings. some of my favorites are the endura, pm2, shaman, sage.

I own nearly 200 Spyder's, everything from the C01 to the new Military 2. Snagged the Military 2 Compression Lock on the drop, fell in love with it and then snagged another in S110V, been hard to carry anything else.

Spyderco knives themselves are super nice and well built. Most of the popular models at this point have came in all kinds of steels as well, not just S30V.
I wanted a PM2 for the longest, I was just waiting for the right one. I finally saw the S90V PM2 with teal G10 scales, immediately picked it up. It was an exclusive. Threw on a MXG Gear deep carry pocket clip and a titanium backspacer from Rock Scale Design. You can make your spyderco unique and customize it to your desires.
I never cared for Spyderco at first until I got one in my hands. Pricing have gotten higher but you're right, just got to wait for a sale. Even there non US made models are sweet. The SpydieChef is one of my favorites.

Late to the Spyderco game but after purchasing 4 different Spyderco knives (Stretch 2 in K390, Manix 2 in CPM-M4, Lil' Native in Cruwear, and PM3 in Maxamet) I can say that I AM a fan. Their heat treats are always on point and they are fantastic tools for your money. Some of them are a little wacky as far as the prices but in this case you DO get quality for your money

Where are you purchasing them that they are on sale so often? Spyderco website or other stores like blade hq, dlc etc.or both?

Where do buy your spyderco knives from? New and the factory blemished ones?

I love spyderco but I gotta say you’re lucky if you haven’t had any issues with spyderco QC; bad centering, off grinds, pocket clip screws that strip the threads when I try to switch the clip over to lefty, even pocket clip screws drenched in loctite on some of them. Oh and the actual full flat grind on my wharncliffe PM2 is so crooked that the blade appears massively off center but it’s not a centering issue it’s that one side is ground more then the other so it’s actually asymmetrical! You can look at the blade straight on and see the tip is way off center from the rest of the blade 😢

But despite all that I love them and most of the time I can fix any issues
