I was debating this white British woman that was telling me that colonization benefited africa more than it did for Europe and told me that Africans were already fighting each other and Europeans had to bring in peace. She said they ended slavery SMH 🤦🏾‍♂️ Then she gave me the Rwanda example and I told her Rwanda was divided by Europeans to be taken over. How can you provide a solution to a problem that you started yourself?

It was hatred of a hundred thousand Hutus, a struggle for power that spanned decades and had had multiple genocides in Rwanda and Burundi in the past 70 years, not the advice one of the presenters gave, even though it is hardly understandable how Georges Ruggiu, an extremist lost individual and Muslim convert, got himself into this. Making complex problems into one easy scapegoat doesn't help us stop it in the future or learn from the past.

As a white woman from America I have so much respect for the people of many different parts or cultures of Africa I only know from the people I have encountered in my own life here such as newer Immigrants to US from African Nations. The people I have met have been the best folks and have amazing culture, family and life values and morals, integrity, work ethic, drive and motivation and a spirit of endurance and determination like no one else I have ever known❤

I don't think you can blame one Belgian for the genocide. It's certainly true the belgians were horrific monsters when they were the colonial masters but the Rwandan genocide was by Rwandans... against Rwandans.
