Hillsdale College is an independent institution of higher learning founded in 1844 by men and women “grateful to God for the inestimable blessings” resulting from civil and religious liberty and “believing that the diffusion of learning is essential to the perpetuity of these blessings.” It pursues the stated object of the founders: “to furnish all persons who wish, irrespective of nation, color, or sex, a literary, scientific, [and] theological education” outstanding among American colleges “and to combine with this such moral and social instruction as will best develop the minds and improve the hearts of its pupils.” As a nonsectarian Christian institution, Hillsdale College maintains “by precept and example” the immemorial teachings and practices of the Christian faith.

The College also considers itself a trustee of our Western philosophical and theological inheritance tracing to Athens and Jerusalem, a heritage finding its clearest expression in the American experiment of self-government under law.

By training the young in the liberal arts, Hillsdale College prepares students to become leaders worthy of that legacy. By encouraging the scholarship of its faculty, it contributes to the preservation of that legacy for future generations. By publicly defending that legacy, it enlists the aid of other friends of free civilization and thus secures the conditions of its own survival and independence.

Sounds like a great course. I've read pretty much everything Lewis wrote at least a few times. 'The Great Divorce' I've probably read ten or twelve times, and every time I find in it something I missed before, some jewel of though about the human condition and the choices which are before each one of us. There's a reason he's numbered among the greatest Christian apologists.

"How monotonously alike all the great tyrants and conquerors have been; how gloriously different are the saints." - Mere Christianity

Lewis' "The Shocking Alternative" from his "Mere Christianity" series is one of my favorites of his. I like the video of the original audio with animated doodles.

C.S. Lewis was a Gift sent down from Heaven with a mission to carry out from the foundation of the Earth, and He was exemplary in fulfilling that mission. Being a fallen Human and with all His faults he still stood firm and used His God given talents to tell the Gospel in his own way.

I loved mere Christianity, well thought out and sincere .

One weakness of most commentators on Lewis is that they haven't read him. Or rather, they know the apologetic works and fiction, but not his literary scholarship and poems. Really, one needs to look at all of it to get the full picture... But one of your strengths, Michael Ward, is that you really have read him (and most all of what's written about him).

The music and the sounds and everything he's talking in and hyping it up it's like a sports game or something get ready for the kickoff on the football he's going to hit a home run hallelujah

You can say everything and you can say anything and the colors and the sounds and this and that but I don't think he's really that great I mean he's good but he's not like a firework show it's I don't see fireworks going off and and miracles happening in the sky is falling

The fact that CS Lewis had to come to Faith that means he did a lot of bad s*** before he came to Christianity waste a lot of time so just as that fact it makes it doubtful

I tried to do some online course here, but I was disappointed that the people teaching were extremely boring. Sad.

Maybe see us Lewis can be something like a Saint Paul or something this is all about Jesus it's not all about Saint Paul it's not all about CS Lewis I guess you're trying to make it all about him

I want to know if C. S. LEWIS HAS EXCEPTED JESUS CHRIST AS HIS SAVIOR. According to my King James Version Bible you can't except Christ as your savior after death. The Bible was written by men inspired by God. There is only one way to the Father and that is through Jesus who gave His life on the cross for our sins and rose on the third day. No one can go to the Father except through Jesus. One must believe on His name and repent of their sins and accept Him as savior. What doctrine is C.S. LEWIS ❓
