On June 18, 2024, officers were dispatched to Walgreens at Main and Highland in response to shoplifting incidents. Upon arrival, they were informed that Ayaioe Pickett, along with another black female and her children, had entered the store. While inside, Pickett and her accomplice filled two carts with items and left without paying. Employees noted that Pickett frequently brings her children along to assist in the thefts. They also mentioned that Pickett and her accomplice usually visit the store every Tuesday.

They're teaching their young children to be exactly like them. In a few years you'll be arresting them as well. It's what they've been taught. It's so sad. Quit having children if you can't afford them. It's not fair to them.
