Under the Influence Tag by abookolive, I was tagged by Rosie Cockshutt:

1. What's a fantastic book you read off the recommendation of another Booktuber? And oppositely, what's a book that you were talked out of reading because of a Booktuber's review?
2. Has Booktube opened your mind to or changed your mind about any genre(s)?
3. How much time did you spend on YouTube before Booktube and how much time do you spend on it now?
4. How many books did you read (per month/per year) before Booktube and how many do you read now?
5. Has Booktube affected your book buying habits and, if so, are you pleased or displeased by this?
6. Has a review by a Booktuber ever retroactively made you reconsider your stance on a book?
7. Are there any videos you've been inspired to make after seeing another Booktuber's video(s)? Have you ever felt inspired by another Booktuber's style (their video style, their book organization style, their personal style - anything!)?
8. What are some pressures you feel on your reading life because of your channel?
9. In what way, if any, do you feel the social element of the community has influenced your reading? Do you think about books differently since joining?

Good book, bad ending is a good one for me. I have a classic that jumped in my head pretty quick.

Thanks for the tag. I definitely think this is one I will do. It might be a while till I get to it.
I was very tempted to answer some of the prompts to this tag though,

And a happy bog day to you too. I’ve been to the Scottish highlands but a long time ago. Mull and Fishnish. never forgot that last name. Lol

Hahahahahaha, "finding readers in the dating scene"!!! *sobs* My partner isn't a reader but at least he fills the apartment with bird reference books...I took what I could get!

So many great thoughts in the second tag. I appreciate your comments about ReaderTube vs. AuthorTube! I think you're doing a great job navigating it. Authors are readers, too!

I agree with your statement about modern readers being generally less satisfied with the more wholesome, acceptable endings. Happy Bog Day to you! I have to look up bog mummies now.

oh my gosh I so relate on the tag plans - there are so many cool tags I want to do in that mythical someday when I'm actually caught up 😂 and thank you for your kind words! 💕

I didn't know there was an International Bog Day! very cool!

hahaha "*and screamed" That would be so frustrating! This first tag is a bit of a tricky one, I like you...don't have the best long term memory lol I read SO much more now, because of that micro-managing component haha. Loved your answers to the prompts in the second tag :) Happy International Bog Day this weekend :D

I haven't read 'Enchanted April' but I love the movie. I find that if I am feeling really down in early Spring I can throw the film on and it lightens my spirits. I've been wanting to read the book. I wonder if the ending differs at all between the book and the film.

Blackout would have angered me too if reading 300 plus pages and the overarching plot was not revealed. Good thing it was a paperback and didn’t cause any damage in your room. 😉

I have been known to throw books across the room. This is why I cant own a Kindle longer than a week. 😅 I will finally be able to get to "The Keening" next month, hopefully! I have heard a lot of great things, and not just from Jeremy Fee! Haha

I want a treasure! :) But I already won one so feel free to kick me out of the drawings for a year or whatever. And happy bog day! There are lovely bogs in Minnesota, too. And New York! One of my absolute favorite habitat types.

I am a fan of folks who DNF with extreme prejudice. Life is too short for bad media of any sort.
Does that make BookTube harder (in that hate-reads / reviews get lotsa views and stuff)?

I genuinely can't think of a single book I've read that was good right up until the ending. I can think of ones that never really lived up to their potential but not that I really enjoyed until the ending let me down. I also don't think i've ever thrown a book across the room :') Booktube has definitely opened my eyes to different genres. i didn't even know stuff like historical fiction existed and following channels like Lady Jane Books and The Nerdy Narrative has made me want to branch out and read some horror. I actually read The Sundown Motel because of Heather's Book Review. I didn't spend much time lurking either I just found booktube, figured out I liked it and dived in head first.

I never got along with Martha Grimes. I might have liked one of her many many books but thought she was unnecessarily complicated and obtuse.

Hi again, I’m not officially on author tube but I did as you know read a mini chapter of my work in progress in my last video. I only know a few people who read from their work on booktube.Did you ever read from your work?
