As a 19 year old after leaving a Poole training with recruitment center of Marines I went into the mall and an Asian massage therapist offered me free massage as an attempt to attract me into paying for full treatment. After the free back massage shoulder massage I felt like I was ready to run a 5K again and feeling like I just woke up and showered refreshed in energy physically and mentally. It was also the first professional massage I ever had in my life

47 yrs old - I started weekly deep tissue in May - GAME CHANGER! Combined with regular stretching and mobility work, I've increased performance, increased recovery and advanced mobility. I also use a foam roller post-workout, critical for lack of DOMS (for me)

Somehow we should be able to get CEU or CPD points from watching these videos, this is a great resource for students and qualified professionals. This is such a easy way to learn topics l, maybe you guys should try accredited video lectures for health care professionals if you dont already have a platform for that

Indeed. As a certified massage therapist since 2004, and a zhan zhuang & tai chi qigong practitoner since 1989 which I also teach, Ive experienced countless people benefit from massage sessions. Especially when they are already being proactive about maintaining healthy physical fitness with regular exercise and maintaining a healthy trim weight.

Massage to me is all about the 2 to 3 fold increase in circulation essentially boosting metabolism of muscle tissue cells. Reduces inflammatory signaling, increases mitochondrial biogenesis. Massage is also shown to reduce cortisol on average 30%

DO ONE ABOUT ASSISTED STRETCHING NEXT! My brother is getting his PhD to become a physical therapist and LOVES this stuff. I was and still am a stretch practitioner as well so I know the benefits of it. Would be a cool video! Nutrition research is also something I do, maybe a video on how herbs affect the body too! If you know your stuff ofc :)

PLEASE let the therapist work.. the therapist will know what to do once you tell them what your goal is and what you do. Also, PLEASE tell them if youve had any injuries or accidents, the massage will actually harm you more than help you at that point. The therapist doesnt need help, if they need it moved, they will move it. Just RELAX

As a physiotherapist I do this all day mixed with other techniques. Really effective 😊. Also to support my patients rehabilitating and regaining muscle mass.

When I was younger i dated a massage therapist. As a powerlifter she hated working on me because working through the muscle was a lot of work. Now I keep a percussion massager around when i lift heavy. It feels nice on my quads and hips.

Changed my will to donate my body to science because of this channel! I noticed the form for the school near me didn't ask what medical conditions I had. I guess it doesn't matter and/or part of the learning experience is discovering it for yourself?! Anyway, thanks for the educational videos. Much of it is over my head but I still enjoy watching!

Not just Pro... When I was in the Air Force I worked Parttime at the base gym doing warm ups and massage for powerlifters and guys who participated in sports that day.

I’d love to see you guys dive into how we move from a neurological standpoint, meaning how receptors are most dense closest to the joint space between the bones and what role that plays in things like muscle tension as you move away from the joint space. I was hoping you’d cover that aspect here but instead there was just a mention of “warming up” the joint, which I’m not sure you meant. If it was increasing blood flow, increasing signaling between the brain and joint tissues….etc. great video though. The flexibility peace I have issue with in this regard because it negates the strength that can be paired with an increase in flexibility which would NOT be “dangerous” for anyone necessarily. Lots of people view the word “flexibility” to mean static stretching, but not lengthening tissues and increasing neuromuscular control at that length to give “mobility” as well.

Your channel is excellent! I would love to see one regarding the factors of urine analysis. I have had three episodes of surgical removal of kidney stones, and since have cloudy brown urine, a GFR of fifty to 71, high creatine, and frequent bladder infections. I do see both a nephrologist and urologist.

Great video! And yet, most of the time I get “invited” to give massage to athletes the pay I would receive is a thank you and “you can pass your cards out!” 20 years practicing and thankfully never had to take one of those offers. All the athletes I see are just referrals from my regular patients.

Hi guys, Love your shows. I’m a board certified massage therapist in Ontario, Canada for 15 years. I always smile when I hear “sports” massage. Massage therapy encompasses everything you “briefly” but well explained in your video. What differentiate “sports” massage from therapeutic massage ? Would be great if you could do another scientific video on this matter. ❤
