The director of Onward never really knew his dad when he was young, and that’s how he got the idea for this film

Yeah, this movie is definitely for kids/adults who grew up with a single parent. Hit me in the feels.

Great movie, loved it.

This movie was done by the same guy who did Monsters U soooo I expect this to be pretty polarizing lol.

"Tell him about the dance-off to save the Universe."
"What dance-off?"
"It’s not a thing."
"Like in Footloose, the movie?"
"Exactly like Footloose! Is it still the greatest movie in history?"
"It never was."

Jeremy Jahn’s being a younger brother makes absolute sense to me. He just has that vibe. Gotta get some family pics man

The main dude looks like the bad chef and Rémi from ratatouille had a child

as much I like Jeremys reviews, I literally only come here to see why he was holding the Soul Reaver in the thumbnail. I’m still none the wiser.

I love how much Jeremy loves the Legacy of Kain series.

As somebody who has dealt with loss (though in my case, it was my mom but either way I still lost a parent) the aspect of going on a quest to try to bring them back, even just for a day definitely hit home. Both my dad and I cried during the ending scene because we would both give ANYTHING to spend even just five more seconds with her. She was our Person for both of us in different ways (his soulmate\wife, my mother\best friend). I would agree that this is definitely not on par with some of PIXAR's masterpieces like Up, Toy Story, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo or Wall-E, but it's still very enjoyable to watch and I would see it again.

Thanks for the review! Love your channel!

I was lucky to have both my parents growing up, so going in I was expecting not to relate to the message at all. But then the checklist scene happened and I realized that it was really about brothers all along, and man did that hit me like a truck. I can relate to that on so many levels and I was emotionally wrecked by the end of it.

"Which means dad's officially not half the man he used to be"

I saw one trailer for this several months ago. I had to baby sit my little sisters yesterday and had no idea what to do... Bought us all tickets and LORD HAVE MERCY! this film was incredible. 10/10 I really enjoyed it and so did my little sisters.

"The Legends claimed that the blade was possessed, and thrived by devouring the souls of our victims. For all of our bravado, we knew what it meant when Kain drew the Soul Reaver in anger. It meant you were dead."

I'm so glad that Soul Reaver isn't forgotten. Man... I really miss Simon Templemen and Michael Bell.

I love how much a nerd Jeremy is. Makes me all tingly inside.

Just saw Onward today, (it was the 2nd day of its release) and I was slightly cautious due to the fact that our theater was almost completely empty save for maybe 3 other families, but boy was I surprised.
This movie had heart, a good plot, and an even better meaning toward the end. Everyone in the theater laughed throughout the film and cried as well. Kids and adults alike were engaged at all times.
I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of this film especially seeing as I was not in any way pulled in by the trailers.
Actually, Jeremy, it was your review that inspired me to go, and I'm really glad that I did.
It's too bad that the marketing on this seems to have missed its mark because I do believe that is going to impact the sales on their opening week, and maybe the Box office as a whole.
But if you're watching this review and are thinking about seeing it for yourself definitely go! It was worth the ticket price and I will probably see it again while it is still in theaters.

Went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised; it takes its time to get going and around the 30-minute mark I felt like it was gonna be a dud, but then it REALLY pulls itself together and continues to build steam right up until the ending, which was appropriately heartwarming in Pixar's typical fashion.

Jeremy Jahns heart warming moment 2020. I can appreciate some brother appreciation.
