I always love how he plays it off like he's just trying to see how strong you are but can literally instantly execute you if you're health is too low.

I remember fighting him and I had Lydia and she went into I must protect my thane mode, she attacked vilkas then the other companions joined the fight I stood there watching her destroy them all.
