2023 Mazda CX-5 Luggage Test

With the new CX-50 in the lineup, does the best-selling Mazda CX-5 still make sense? We had one here for a week of testing and found it very similar to the newest crossover in the Mazda lineup.

Thanks to its 29.1 cubic feet of storage behind 2nd row, and 58.1 cubic feet behind the front row with the rear seats folded, we were able to load all our luggage just fine. It is slightly less room with the rear seats up and slightly more than the CX-50 with the rear seats down.

Love my cx 5. I was planning to get the rav 4, good thing i bought the CX 5. Although the body style is almost outdated, performance and style beats RAV 4.

A vacuum fits in back seat area standing straight up as well. A lot of usable space if loaded right. Had a 2016.5 Sport and now a 2023 Carbon. The 16 is a better to me. It’s sportier and seemed to have better power band. If luxury and noise is your thing, the 23 is better.

I currently have a Mazda 6 and can fit 2 fullsized suitcases in it. I'm looking at switching to the CX-5 and boot space has been one of my concerns. Watching this maybe it won't be so bad.
