2024 Mazda CX-90 Luggage Test

We were invited out by Mazda to the premiere of their new CX-90 flagship SUV in Southern California. We absolutely loved this new Artisan Red paint on the model we have here, but were curious just how much luggage we could get in the back of the largest Mazda ever produced… well, see for yourself. No official numbers on cargo capacity have been released yet, but we were able to get all 3 suitcases in without any problem. The 50/50 split third-row seat meant we had even more room for our largest suitcase.

Nice demonstration. Numbers are helpful, but actually seeing how much fits is far more useful.

Not bad, looks like you can easily fit in double that amount and triple that amount with the 3rd row fully down.

Apparently this has less storage space overall than the two row CRV. Two ends of the packaging spectrum there, Honda with their reality distortion powers and Mazda with their one size down interior vs exterior thing.

..I don't know why quite a few ppl said it had no storage in the back, when they forget... that's what the damn luggage racks are for. Put your crap in a CLAM-SHELL on the roof !!!

As the owner of a 2021 CX-9 GT I'm really digging the CX-90 but the was it's configured in this vehicle the amount of luggage and people it can hold makes it no more practical than a AWD mid size sedan. Seating 5 and 3 pieces of luggage.

There’s no space behind that third row. The Cadillac XT6 and Enclave are massive trunk spaces are massive compared to this.
