Tip for furniture: go to second hand or thrift stores to get some of your furniture and that will save a lot of money

I’m 27 and have lived by myself (or with my boyfriend/husband) since I was 19.
I’m just really excited about moving.
Some tips that I have:
-If living by yourself make sure your rent is less then 1/3 of your TAKE HOME pay
-know what your rent covers (is gas, trash water included, or is that separate?)
-deep clean at least two months out. You should touch everything you own. Get rid of a lot of stuff donate it and only pack what you need
-give one trusted friend a key that lives close so when you accidentally through your key into the dumpster you don’t have to climb two stories off the side of the building to get into your porch.

You gotta have that mindset set in your mind so you don’t end up stuck in your parents home, I know it will be hard in the beginning because they took care of you for the whole of there life, but there comes a time where you have to leave and start a new life no matter how difficult.

Very informative video. I envy whoever is paying $800 for rent. Rent starts at $1700 over here.

I stay in an apartment for college and it made me realize how much I need to leave. I get along with my mom better that way.

Girl I am NOT giving my parent my card that they can hold on to so that I won’t spend, I will put that away instead. The whole point of moving out is to have my mom stays away from my business 😩

I agree with most things, but if you can't afford to pay exactly 200$ a month for restaurants and drinks or save 500$ a month, but your mental state at home is suffering, move anyways. You can always cut back on some expenses, but at least the emotional damage will not continue further

i’ll be left with $750 after my rent, and other bills a month. i’m almost to my goal of 5k being saved :)

I had enough after growing up in a toxic environment and just realizing in the past years I needed to get out. Having a son now, I am even more motivated, finally got a full time job that pays well and I’m giving myself a year to save up money for a townhouse. I already know what neighborhood to live in, it’s just a matter of what will be available when the time comes. Thank you for this video, I’ve been researching and making budget plans, even selling some stuff I don’t need and to minimize how much I will move.
