Pixel 7a versus Pixel 7 Pro camera comparison

I think many of the photos from 7A were better than the photos from 7 pro. Also the microphone in 7A seems to be better than that in 7 pro. Amazing!

Overall I liked the Pro better, but there were some instances where I preferred the a. Very close, I could be happy with either. Glad the new camera on the a retains the Pixel feel. I'll be interested to see what they do with the 8s.

I just bought the 7a today and haven't activated yet. I super glad to see the very very close similarity in strengths for comparison of photo purposes.
I rest easy knowing the 7a is all I need for my 1st Google phone introduction.

I don't know if it's the fact that I own the 7a but I found myself preferring the 7a snaps over the 7pro and even video seemed to be more focused on subjects on the 7a. Only wish the 7a had a dedicated Telephoto lens, that's about all that it's missing.

Man it's a close call. I'd say after viewing in 1440p that the 7a does better on selfie photos and in good lighting video too. The 7pro however does better in video when it's a low light scene and photos are too close to call. What do you think my dude?

Though they traded blows in a few shots, I marginally - and not so marginally - preferred the 7a. Startling, for me, at least.

I rarely use a telephone and like yourself prefer to use the front lens for selfies/video, so if we're talking about the primary lens, the 7a would be my choice, if the rest of the phone's specification didn't much matter to me.

curiously 7a images look better than 7pro - apart from zoomed. Maybe 7pro isn't worth the investment

The big reason for me to consider the 7 Pro over the 7a was the optical zoom, but in these samples, the image from the 5x zoom is so much softer than the 2x digital zoom on the 7a, that I expect there wouldn't be a enough difference in sharpness to justify the extra cost for the Pro (when enlarging the 7a image to match the 7 Pro images). Hmm...

The 7a's front facing cam does much better video. For most comparable snaps they were comparable until that last main cam video, which IMO, the Pixel 7 Pro took handily. Still, Google made some smart choices.

The color might be better on the pro but I kinda like the slightly warmer colors of the 7a, two great phones to be honest

Shame that 7a is catching up with the much costlier 7 pro. I want to buy 7 pro, but now I'm sad on seeing the result 🥲. I don't wanna go with the S23 Ultra as it's much costlier
