Starship: Dock to the ISS
ISS: ...
Starship: Look at me, I am the station now.

I can't believe all the haters leaving their comments. I have watched the rocket story since the first days the USA tried to get a rocket to fly. A lot of disappointments. But a lot of successes as well. I still watch as many launches and space flight stories as I can. The day the boosters landed side by side after the Falcon Heavy launch of Starman was amazing. The views reminded me of the old TWA rocket at Disneyland, only this was real. I have no idea of how many launches and attempts I have watched, but never in person. I do hope that I can see one launch in person and check that off of my bucket list.

For me Starship represent humanity reaching new ideals together, a new motivation toward new possibilities using today's knowledge and technologies.

Yay thanks for a realistic video - Starship is indeed primarily a Starlink 2.0 dispenser! Economics of Starlink are impossible with Starlink 1.0 - and shaky at best with gov't subsidies with Starlink 2.0.

More and more space materials are going to be needed in constructing all types of space projects for the entrepreneurs wanting to go further into space. The space x starship could provide that all in one cargo lift for them, like explained. If they can, then they could construct a bigger, better space stations so they can work and conduct new science experiences. All they would need is, be all you can be astronauts.

Starlink dispenser slot brings to mind those plastic disk-shooting "Star Trek Tracer Gun" toys of the 1960s and 1970s.
Hey, there's a toy marketing idea, a plastic Starship toy which launches those! 😁

Starship will completely reshape the satellite industry including how fast they are built. Cheaper satellites that don’t last years won’t be a factor as a Starship will be available anytime that week to launch the next replacement built last week. This is a complete game changer for the worlds space program.

So it takes 10 years for someone to work out that ‘starship’ is simply a mark2 space shuttle designed to put 30, 000 sat’s into low Earth orbit ( and maintain that number) at an economical price.Mars? What a joke.

Thx. When I saw the laser link...now I understand the true purpose of the global network on top of it's communications purpose.

So glad I found this channel. Such good content.

I just had an idea about a cargo-bay door for the Starship while watching this video. Instead of having a door mounted on hinges and the door swinging open, the door should pop out a little, then slide back like a sliding side door on a van.

can you imagine what a dozen starships and a nuke engine or 2 in space could do? You could keep an acceleration vector relatively close to mars gravity vector with the help of the nuke engines, and the sharships can land and take off, help with high-g maneuvers, and serves as a passenger area. extra fuel and supplies can also be strapped to nuke thrusters so that starships can potentially take multiple trips to get stuff from orbit. This is particularly true if you have a servicing station on the surface of mars. I hope this is the plan.

In today's political climate, for Space Force in a matter of months, 2 words ... Project Thor. How many tungsten/ceramic telephone poles could Starship put in LEO to use to inhibit use of nukes in Europe? No use of nukes is worth every cent of Starship development.

Uing it for kickstaring the infractrure on the moon, for a permanent base will eventually have factories for producing rockets in a weak gravity well, so then further explore the solar system, going to mars doesn't gain us as much as the moon does, and shear proximity to earth makes everything much easier.

I would be interested to see what starship could "bring back", like the second stage of various rockets that are expendable currently. Since they wouldn't have to endure the forces of reentry, they would likely have some reusable components if not entirely reusable.

I’ve always thought that the Starship will be The major space station module launcher.

It almost has too much cargo capacity for contracted satellite launches to take advantage of the space practically, but it will be ideal for space stations if it functions as planned.
Given the target launch cadence, you could send up the entire ISS in 1-2 weeks with one ship

It seems the point-to-point delivery Starship would have to be considered expendable. Once it lands, it is stuck there unless it can be refueled. This assumes that lighting 6 V-Raptor plus 3 SL- Raptor engines does not create so much debris and shrapnel that it destroys itself at ignition. Assuming that problem can be resolved, even then, it will be a single stage configuration with limited range. Net is, I do not understand how the system would be better than a fleet of C-17's

It's a starlink Pez dispenser for space.

Surely you should use starships as the basis for future space stations. 3, 4, 5 starships joined together, ala a star, joined at the centre by a module that can take regular "feeder" deliveries by other starships. Bases on the moon could be built quickly the same way, by connecting starships horizontaly, side by side. Wife other starships in orbit around the Moon, or Mars. Reminds me, I must buy shares in stainless steel!!

As a show of shear scale and the photo op lol I'd like to see the Starship docked at the ISS :D
