Companies are price gouging under the cover of inflation

I'm just buying less and shopping sales at the grocery store. Wages will never catch up with inflation. Only the CEOs salary/bonuses.

The real reason why is...
CEOs of these food distribution companies: "This is horrible! I only made a few million in profit this year!! That's down 5% from before! We'll raise the price to make up for the loss and increase profit again."

The confusing thing to me about this “7%“ is there is not one food item that I’m aware of what the price was that only went up 7%. For instance Walmart brand spaghetti sauce had been $.88 forever and is now $1.28 that is more than 7%. Another item at Walmart that used to be $2.50 it’s now $3.54 again a food item. Shrinkflation is Israel – there are four food items that I used to purchase at Dollar tree for a dollar that decreased in size and are now $1.25 that is 25% of an increase of every food product sold at dollar tree. The struggle is when you already only purchased low price items non-brand-name items you can’t go any lower than that. Even the vending machine at my work went up 25%! And when gasoline was $1.56 in 2020 and is now $3.99 that is more than 7%. I do realize these are averages but there is not one item that I purchased that has not gone up- and that includes household bills

Greedy corporations, CEO’s of many of the companies raising prices are using any excuse to make more money!

I miss when a regular size candy bar was worth 50¢. Haven't seen those prices since the early 1990s, and not sure if we'll ever see those prices again.

Never thought I would say this, I think I'm going to lose weight because I cannot afford food as much as I used to have.

Wages increase by $1 but inflation increases much faster so we’re not only in the same as before but worse!
Even my small town is starting to see homelessness

This is not a feel-good story, yet this woman is smiling and making jokes throughout. Just wanted to express my disgust.

Don't sugar coating please... The USA is in deep. And is not because the pandemic.. started well before the pandemic.

That’s ok. They can keep their pork, beef, chicken, and seafood. I’m becoming vegetarian…slowly moving towards vegan. Never knew cabbage, broccoli, and mushrooms could be so delicious and filling on their own. Just gotta learn to make different types of sauces. As they say, “Necessity is the mother of invention”.

We will find out next year how much profit companies have made this year at the end of the year and if it is price gauging. Grocery stores are still throwing out food. Have to love the 1 sided supply demand. Workers are in demand and instead of increasing pay companies cry about it. Nothing goes down in price except gas that always goes up and down. Time to raise the minimum wage. Our government needs to stop only helping and listening to corporations and start listening to the majority of average Americans.

Big companies: “we must raise prices to compensate for increased cost of production!”
Yet they’re making record profits and rewarding their executives and CEOs while paying their workers miserable salaries.

All those landlords that got no money because of the moratoriums jacked up the prices once they ended

Our whole family is buying seasonal produce, growing a garden like in the 40's, No Netflix/Hulu/Movies, etc., and No more premade foods, all homemade foods, and no more drinks or soda pop either. All drinks from home too. Cuppa tea to all.☕

I have 3 Old English Sheepdogs and 7 rescue cats. I’m paying $75 more per month for food and litter😡 I cannot imagine how rescues are paying for food and transportation costs.
