How To Remove a Car Alarm - Quick and Easy, DIY!

Here's my guide on how to quickly and easily go about removing a bad, broken, or unwanted car alarm from your car!

This is the way to go if your aftermarket car alarm is stopping your car from running or setting off a siren that annoys your neighbours.

My Mazda Miata, aka MX-5, came with an aftermarket alarm, left over from the previous owner. The second day I had the car, it wouldn't start because both of the keyfobs were dead. It was a real pain!

It was an atrocious piece of equipment, installed with all the style and finesse of a speedo at a funeral. It had to go.

AvE removed their wire splice vid, so have one from ChrisFix instead.

Just got stranded on the supermarket's parking lot because of the shitty alarm that was "removed". Thankfully i got it working without touching any cable (the fob works if you apply the right ratio of cursing/praying) but this video got me thinking about walking to the nearby hardware store and just do it there.

I have done same way now it took me less than one hour to remove the alarm and start the car even without the car alarm. It would have cost me lots of money 100 USA $. But your video took me easy and saved me time. And my car is starting normal and no problem. Thank you for good information. 👍

I have a 97 Toyota Camry CE E I am trying to put a aftermarket alarm system on there I got it all hooked up sup for the lock and unlock and I can't figure out where to hook those wires to I need help

How do you identify which is the fuel pump relay in the alarm box. I have 1990 Audi that was professionally fitted. Car wil crank (new battery had to be fitted) full spark but not firing so spark + fuel = bang (all timing is good). Need to check the relay in the immob has failed and I have no manual for it so how do you check which is the fuel pump relay in the alarm?

Lesson learned. Bought a used FJ Cruiser from a dealer who go it on a trade in. Weird, but minor electrical issues a little bit into ownership. Yeah, a year and a half later, I finally got the time to look into that weird little issue as I wanted to get it ready for overlanding and found an aftermarket alarm on my FJ. Never again. Next car will either be a one owner car from a reputable seller or new.

Pleased I found this as my Sons Mk2 Golf has been languishing in a damp Garage for seven years and although I have "occasionally" (every tenth turn of the key) got the Car to turnover but its not fuelling. Its a Laser line system from the Nineties with only a half moon wigit to push into a hole to "supposedly" disarm. Hope I can find those two Relays. Really frustrating!

I remove the alarm system I had trouble with lights at first which little help the lights are working and all now stepping on the ignition or on the foot feet when you're stepping on the foot feed it stays running but if you light off at all it just dies I need somebody help me I'm an old veteran and this is the only vehicle I have and it needs to be able to run. I don't have nothing I need help finding it sounds like the fuel pump is pumping back in the back and there's fuel coming out of the check valve on the fuel rail

Awesome video! My son bought a new used car with an aftermarket alarm. His battery went flat overnight. This morning we couldn't get it to start due to the alarm. I watched your video, bypassed both relays and the car started. Yay! However, now the hazzard lights won't go off. Everything works as it should, but the hazzards stay on. Any ideas on how to eliminate that?

Hi my Dodge intrepid 2000 rt I put 6 batterys in so still dies over night will drive a few days but last night I got home and never new I had in a alarm system it went off me and my neighbor couldn't turn it off but it finally shut off don't no how I have a button but it's to lock the doors and in lock o wen it was all the light was going off in on out side light is there a fuse I can pull it out to stop the alarm

Will you get the same result if you cut the power cord to the alarm box? Since the relays cut the power of the ignition and fuel pump when alarm is on, so I'm guessing that removing the alarms power source will get the car running, right?
