My aunt usually had one or the other breed on her farm at any time. That was one of the best comparisons I've ever heard.

German Shepherd....we had a long haired GSD years ago, he was the best dog we ever had, most loyal, smartest and sweetest.

I love German breeds, German Shepherd, Doberman and Rottweiler. I plan on owning these dogs when I can afford it and hopefully when I move out because my current place doesn’t allow pets.

Mal - like them a bit smaller and slimmer i guess and still have a big enough dog to rough house with...

I love GSh and Belgian Malinois equally. Both breeds are excellent in many ways. We used to have German Shepherd a few years ago. That was the best dog we ever had. Both breads needs big space, intense training and lot of time and energy. Both breeds are not for elderly people.

You forgot to mention that German Shepard hips start to cause pain to them in the last few years of their life. 10/10 will have huge problems with it.

The shorter version: When the GSD needs help, they call in the Malinois.

That's like comparing a longsword with a greatsword. No offense to the mal, but I'd rather get caught by it than a GSD.
