I have owned both, I owned my beautiful GS for 11 years before he passed. 4 years later decided for a Belgium malinois, well he chose me.😊 Both are strong! Very protective and loyal with their family and property. Except Belgium malinois are very hyper, would not recommend them to be your smaller children's playmate.

I've had shepherds and I have a malinois now, both are great breeds, but I prefer the malinois because the standard for shepherds has caused severe hip dysplasia in them. I've seen them suffering, and literally dragging their back legs behind them, before they have to be put down. I heard that the shepherd malinois Ross, is the best of both breeds.

Already did... 3/4 Mal 1/4 Dutch 🐕‍🦺 working lines. GSD are better for families w lil children but Mals are better protectors. (My opinion)
