Just a point of clarification: a “button-down” shirt is one that has the little buttons at the top of the shirt attaching to the collar. (Like a classic Oxford style). A “button up” shirt is simply one with buttons all the way up the front.

The wrap dress is never out of style. They were wearing it through the 50’s and it came back again in the 80’s, and then in the 2000’s. The wrap dress is always beautiful

The wrap dress is a classic because it’s soooo flattering. I could never wear that corset dress with my body type. Not to mention I think it’s inappropriate for a grown woman to wear.
I agree that a wrap dress is not “in” right now but it will never fully go away. It’s just too good.

I think we should all wear what suits us individually. I also think we need to stop trying to copy all of the trendy stuff the young kids are wearing and just let them have their fashion moment. Picking up a couple trends is fine, but nothing is more mortifying to a teen than having parents who are desperately trying to act younger than they are.

The corset style dress was popular about 25+ years ago. The problem is, when it’s done it’s so obviously trendy there’s nothing you can do with it. The style isn’t flexible. (Anyway, I don’t like it in any case 😅)

Wow! Gen X weighing in. Kinda feel like I'm back in high school with the leggings tucked into "slouchy-ish" crew sox in Reebox (hightops back then) and the sweater or sweatshirt wrapped around the shoulders. Seems like everything old is new again, except ME! 😂

Good tips to keep in mind.
The wrap dress to me is more of a quick office dress the other option given cannot be worn to office lol. The reason for not wrapping the sweater around your back is because if you are hot 🥵 putting it around your waists lets you keep the top of your body cool. That’s why I took of the sweater in the first place lmao 🤣 but I do think the other option looks cute. The bathing suit 🩱humm I look for what I feel comfortable in, what goes with my body shape.

As a millenial I never wore a wrap dress😅, just not my style. But I really liked the peplum dress and the short bandeau dress which sadly also seem outdated now.

I don't have the checkerboard but the classic Louis and I bought it as my teacher tote so I can put anything and everything in it and I am OCD matchy and for some reason I can wear it with black instead of HAVING to wear a black tote because I'm mental about it. I have not said, 'oh, dang, its in my other bag' since I bought it and it works for me because I'm GenX and am past caring about being trendy. I want quality that lasts and trascends trends and color fads...at least in my own mind.
