Went to Thailand and took a trip to Khao San Road in Bangkok. I saw a rowdy British bloke throwing his weight around acting the bollox, big meathead muscleman type… absolutely no respect for the locals, spraying beer, being a general nuisance. Anyway, 15 minutes later I was stood waiting for a nice lady to serve up some pad Thai from a street stall and I noticed a Toyota Hilux with its hazards on slowly making its way down the road, had four young Thai lads in the back leaning into the truck. As it went past I saw matey from earlier, wrapped up like a prawn kebab face like a balloon and covered in blood handcuffed to the rear with cable ties. I noticed one of the young Thai lads had a badge on his hip and chuckled to myself that the meathead must’ve come a cropper after bumping into a couple of undercover cops. Anyway, the next day I had to pop over to the British embassy to fill out some paperwork and low and behold, there’s the now sober meathead stood outside, his left arm in a plaster cast, no shoes, sobbing and begging to be let in saying the police had battered him, robbed all his money and took his passport before dumping him up the road from the embassy via the local clinic. Instant restorative justice and a harsh lesson learnt hopefully.

I watched this movie about his life. And it was one of the very few movies that really portrays prison. Not at all am I glorifying prison. Just shows you how seriously easy it is for things to go wrong, and the over seas ones are way worse. But overall amazing story.
