“I don’t want the baby thinking that we don’t care about not having baseboards” 😂💀

I was induced for 2/3 pregnancies. I actually liked being induced because I was able to plan and know exactly when we would be going to the hospital, which is nice when you have other kids at home. I had great induction experiences, but I know some people do not. It's just important to remember that the goal at the end of the day is to get baby out safely.

You dont need to ever justify when you eat food babe. If you finished all the popcorn chicken so be it! You need to do whats best for you. You're doing great! Third trimester is tough because you're so tired and get so much bigger its uncomfortable. But youre so close to seeing your babes❤ enjoy the freedom of just getting up and going somewhere without a little baby. Crazy how it changes!
Edit: I can't vouch for the potential heart defect, but I was induced with my son and it went great. They start with a cervical softening gel usually and you can progress on your own. I personally was put on pitocin and it's wasn't so bad! It'll all be great. You two are in my prayers 🙏

You can be induced and have a natural labor. I did with my 2nd—induced with pitocin and they broke my water and no epidural or pain medication. Good luck with whatever way your baby makes their way into the world…it’s all beautiful!

It’s about having your baby come into the world safely and healthy. You do what you need to do to have that happen.

I planned for an unmedicated, spontaneous birth too. I ended up induced during my 39th week (due to preeclampsia). I still went unmedicated and had a positive safe delivery! Its totally understandable to be disappointed in not having your 'ideal' birth, but know it can still be postiive for you, and there are still elements in your control!

Hi! I totally understand the desire to go naturally, just urge you to do your research! Induction is more common in first time moms because the placenta begins deteriorating after 40 weeks so with each passing week after that, risk to baby increases. To avoid these issues, providers often push for induction around the time of the due date, and elective induction can be scheduled (in my state at least) at 39 weeks gestation. Whatever happens, I know you’ll get through it. I really wanted to go naturally as well, but my first was frank breech (booty down) with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck 3 times, so it was a scheduled c-section for me. I went into labor naturally with my second at 37+4 and wanted to try natural again, but amniotic fluid samples found meconium so we had another c-section. I definitely still struggle with disappointment, but I have two healthy boys & that’s all that really matters. Best of luck to you! ❤️

Remember that inductions are recommendations only and no one can make you do anything without your consent ❤

I used my breast friend and LOVED IT! it was very supportive not like a boppy that just like compressed when baby was on it. Was so good!

Rachel, my twin sister had my niece through IVF recently. The baby came at 2 weeks early, naturally. I hope that eases your mind about induction and going all the way to 40 weeks. It is not a guarantee.

I am 32 weeks with my first IVF baby boy and I haven’t had any additional screening because my pregnancy was IVF. I am in BC, Canada so likely our system works wayyy different but I haven’t been treated any differently because of IVF. Once my fertility clinic discharged me at 10 weeks and I started seeing my Midwife they haven’t brought up IVF since my first appointment to just chat about it. I could have gone the OB route so maybe it would have been different if I went with them VS a midwife!
