Actually Loki's introduction fits the original Loki mythology pretty well, because when the Gods caught him after he confessed to killing Balder, they tied him up and put a snake over him to drip venom into his eyes, with the pain causing earthquakes.
Also the possibility of some appearance by Odin reminds me of a comment that in the near future Oda was finally planning to introduce a pirate with an eyepatch.

I think it’s a distinct possibility that the World Government assassinated King Harold and pinned it on Loki as a way to politically destabilise Elbaph because as we’ve been told Elbaph is considered one of, if not the strongest countries in the world who also just so happen to not be allied with the World Government, so if there was a way they could throw Elbaph in to turmoil and weaken them, chances are they’d take it.

Another possible explanation for Loki’s covered eyes if you go into the Prometheus theory line is that in addition of what you said, Prometheus was also the god of foresight.

Also Prometheus did plan the end of Olympus (ragnarok line of theory now). I did the math so assuming Dorry and Broggy s bounties were just adjusted to inflation the overall median inflation experienced in the One Piece world was of around 2, 93% annually. Roger final bounty was emitted 27years ago to current events(if i recall correctly). So if my math is accurate Roger s bounty atm would be worth 12, 103 billion not 27.. meaning one piece has better inflation stability then any country on this planet as ever experienced

Ok, this theory of Loki eating his father makes me realize a thing, maybe the giant who saw BM eating mother caramel and attain her powers told all the elbaf giants and that's why giants know how to obtain DF powers from other people. Frankly is it that why even BB knows about it technically BM did that 60+ years ago.
