The Strict Bar Muscle-Up

The muscle-up is a movement that begins from the hang, passes through portions of a pull-up and a dip, then finishes in a supported position with arms extended. Many athletes experience the strict bar muscle up as more challenging than its counterpart on the rings. This is because the pull-up bar creates a fixed object the athlete must navigate around. Pulling the torso high enough and having the patience to delay the transition to the dip is critical to the success of the movement.

I’m 44 and I took 2 years to do the kipping MU. Maybe in 14 more years I could do one of this strict MU.

Credit to her very strong and tough move to execute however some will say this isn’t a strict muscle up. Try muscle up without allowing your legs to move forwards or backwards as you pull. That would be considered as the strictest muscle up form.

Wow - that is some strength and technique. Agree the comments around what constitutes a fully strict MU e.g. no L sit. But this is still good form using the false/overgrip. Much cleaner than either the CrossFit hip kip or even the callisthenics swing arch/hollow explosive pull up.

Most people commenting that this is not a muscle up, that crossfitters do 0 reps when they do butterfly pull ups, etc, are ignorant in the sport. They are just office people who go to a commercial gym and only know 1 type of pull up.
In crossfit you have all of them, strict pull up, strict muscle up, butterfly pull up, chest to bar, chin up... Depends on what's your goal in the workout

Myself, this is much more difficult because I have the weight of my balls, so add a 45kg for more realistic. Also, my skeleton is around 100 pounds. Without these considerations, I would be in shape.

Esta muy bien pero no es un muscle up estricto, miren como realiza por ejemplo, Andrea Larosa o Fran Medrano el muscle up estricto y verán la diferencia

El ejercicio ejecutado se llama muscle up LENTO, me alegro que mejoren su técnica en algunos ejercicios que le han dado tan mala fama al crossfit.

Después podrían intentar el muscle up Explosivo el cual tanto comparan con este video.
Que en realidad no es más que ponerse en posición diagonal (con piernas recta) y ejercer la máxima fuerza en un corto período de tiempo, logrando la dominada alta,

Y luego rematas con un dip.

Al final muscle up no nada más que la mezcla de dos movimientos opuestos, tirón y empuje.

💪 Han mejorado bastante, solamente me gustaría que la comunidad calistenica no fuera tan tóxico...
