"I won't be corrupted by the Dark Side", cut to Disney canon where he tries to kill his nephew over what would turn out to be a self fulfilling prophesy, driven by his fear and anger, and Luke thinking in absolutes.
While "resetting" continuity is usually a bad thing, I feel like the Luke we see in the Squeal Trilogy movies, and the Luke from the Disney canon comics and his appearance in the Disney+ shows are SO FAR different from each other, in their own continuity, that Disney may as well call those movies non canon at this point and redo them.

I clearly remember Anakin saying “not again, master obi wan is going to kill me” . Which leads me to believe that his AOTC lightsaber is his second which would put the graflex as his 3rd.

If I got my hand cut off while holding a particular saber, I would also hate it. Plus if you’ve ever held a graphflex, they’re damn uncomfortable. That’s why Luke’s grip was smooth.

Anakin’s lightsaber design was driven by pragmatism. Anakin was all about getting things done, and sometimes, you gotta change your process in order to do that.

I didn’t really think about it before, but the fact that Luke wielded the very same lightsaber Vader ended up using to kill the Jedi with actually scares me a little. I’m never going to see Episodes 4 and 5 the same way again.

Also, thank you for revealing how Luke actually got his green lightsaber crystal. (That was new info for me)

Luke absolutely made the right decision, as whether you look at legends or canon material eventually Luke ends up reuniting with his father's lightsaber again after he's gone down his Jedi path, while I personally prefer how legends handled this with Luke clone it goes without saying that because he let go and didn't let his attachment rule him, he learned arguably the one lesson that would of saved Anakin from becoming Vader.

That would explain why when Rey handed that Lightsaber to him, he just yeeted that thing.
It doesn't make sense that he was using that exact lightsaber when his force projection confronted Kylo Ren.

I believe Luke should have collected Anakin's lightsaber from Cloud City, whether to keep as a possible spare or to dismantle for extra parts. Without it, we never would have had the Rei movies, and the universe would be that much better...

Nothing would have made the Emperor or Vader happier than for Luke to find and reembrace his father's lightsaber. They obviously would have seen it as a sign of Luke's compassion for his father and a longing to reconnect. This moves him closer to Palpatine's dream of Luke becoming his new apprentice and a body strong with the Force to transfer his essence.

Maybe him an the saber crystal was communicating... cuz apparently thats something crystals CAN do... an it came clean with what happened to Luke... like a confession...

On Anakins Saber, Anakin's era of Jedi Order... needed to wake up an ditch they spoiled premadonna ways... Anakin WAS practial... even as Vader.. always an his Saber was one that shoulda been used as a template for others to follow too. He made it in perfect adaption an adjustment to changing times... liek having to move from a mystical intergalactic police officer to mystical general an admiral of his own small personal army on any given battlefield

I love how the practical movie making decisions (using a camera flash handle for the hilt, using a green saber so it would stand out against the blue sky) have all of this lore.

This is good. We can understand Luke's feelings. He needed to become something more. Like Bruce Wayne. Luke became new Jedi, new ways. Far better ways. May the Force be with you too😊

I prefer the way Luke got his lightsaber in legends continuity, where he took the process of the Sith and used it against them. In legends, If I recall correctly, he returned to Obi-wan's hut on Tatooine to find his journal and lightsaber schematics. He then did a Sith process of creating an artificial crystal (which is how you'd normally get a red color) but instead of forging it with the dark side, he imbued it with the light within himself.

Palps was stupid in that regard, Vader made a Saber that he knew and could use well, not one he would have to retrain with
