'Lawyer' is NOT the Magic Word For the COPS! #police #lawyer

If you've seen just one interrogation on a crime show, you've seen a suspect say "Lawyer," and the detectives back off and stop talking to them. In real life, this does NOT happen. The police are allowed to ignore you asking for a lawyer if you aren't absolutely clear when asking for one. You MUST say, "I'm invoking my right to a lawyer," or else, they can LEGALLY ignore you.

if you know you did something wrong and get questioned you need a lawyer.

if you know you did nothing wrong and get questioned you ABSOLUTELY need a lawyer.

I have the right to remain silent, but not the ability.

It's disgusting how they use case law to circumvent constitutional protections. Law enforcement should not just be one way. They have to enforce the law on themselves as well.

Its insane how even the courts in the usa is against its own people. Why make it harder for the people and easier for the state to deny you your right for a lawyer?

Relatively few people are thinking "I should remain silent and demand a lawyer."
What people think is "I did nothing wrong and I can clear this all up on my own." Even the people that know they're guilty.

Even if you're just a witness, never go down to the police department and get in that little room.

"Am I under arrest or free to go?" Repeat over & over & over until cops give up. Period.

The fact they keep shifting the goalposts means a lawyer is 100% necessary whenever dealing with police.

Good grief! You need a degree from Hogwarts to survive a police encounter these days.

I want a lawyer. I invoke the 5th amendment to the US constitution. Was that ambiguous or unclear in any way? Get me one. We're done here.

First thing you should say when talking to any government employee is I am invoking my 4th 5th and 6th Amendment rights at this time

BS. When i told that to the ATF agent he instantly stopped and respected my rights. So not everyone does this. The problem is you are paying the bill for an attorney until you are under arrest then you get a free one if you can't afford one

Many say, "I won't speak to the cops without a lawyer present, yet when being faced with it, under anxiety and before realizing it, they manage to get you to talking. Unfortunately, been there and it wasn't under much later, while sitting in a cell and recounting the entire situation that I realized I said why more than I should have. Well then your attorney has a little tiding up to do but not all hope is lost. Happy New Year everyone!

It should straight up be a requirement that a lawyer is present. Cops are not our friends
