i love how everyone’s taken it upon themselves to continue rules lawyering in the comment section. the true rule lawyer spirit!! ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ

Love the backstory that Brennan wrote the prompt and was awestruck that Mercer noticed an unintentional mistake

Matt Mercer’s explanation was a well needed catharsis after listening to that nightmare of a D&D scenario

Anyone who isn't familiar with Critical Role should know that even Matt Mercer, the man who just laid down the D&D law, still finds room for rule breaking flair in his games. To him, the number one rule that trumps the rest entirely is the Rule of Fun

Trapp: "How many errors did you find, Matt?"
Matt: "Twenty"
The guy who drew the comic and put 18 errors in: ', :|

The best part of Matt's flex in this is that there isn't even a hint of ego. He's the picture of true humility.

I've watched this over and over because as pointed out, "there is something very satisfying about watching someone just be very good at something". Truth.

I find some peace of mind knowing that even though we may not get a Brennan Matt face off we still have Brennan fact checking Matt on DnD related questions behind the scenes.

Really shows how nice he is with his friends. Less lawyering because he just wants everyone to have a good time. A lot more cocking his head, laughing, and just going "... Sure." on CR.

Me: **still learning D&D rules**
Also me: **nods at everything Matt says as if I know exactly what he's saying**

This is like the Galadriel gift to Gimli. "We asked for 18 errors; matt found 20"

I don't think anyone's mentioned this but invisibility has a range of touch and the picture depicts them casting it at range.

I love how he did the legendary thing of getting more than 100% on a test because he found something wrong with the test

Saying gruumsh one eye is a dwarven god of the forge is such an insult, random dwarves in a different universe wrote it down in the book of grudges.

"Oh look, Matt Mercer missed this"

Every few months, I come back to this video, thinking "Oh, I know more about D&D now, I wonder how much more I will understand", and I am always blown away by how much I still miss

There's something so fun about rules lawyering in a friendly context.

The true skill is knowing all the rules AND knowing when to hand wave them. Bless MM.

I felt so much horror hearing that round of combat. It would've been fun to see the contestants reacting as it was read off--the looks on their faces would've been HILARIOUS.

Somewhere in CR Campaign 2:
Marisha: "Can i get advantage because of people screaming my name?"
Matt (with a soft voice): "No..."
