15. Solar panel installation on my canal narrowboat (2 x 240W Panasonic)

Once the Spring arrives and I go out continuous cruising on the canals, I will need a way to generate electricity. Ideally this would be done without running the engine. Hence the installation of solar panels.

I chose 2 x 240W panels from Panasonic (model number VBHN240SJ25 if you're curious) because they're only 80cm wide which gives me extra walking space either side on the roof.

Your installer not only did a nice job, but he used very nice quality hardware. Button head cap screws no less. Stainless steel. Proper marine stuff. Same with the sealant.

Retired technical teacher here and just wanted to say that's a very professional installation right down to using a polyurethane sealant and not the usual silicone. Enjoying the relaxed pace of the series.. I suppose that might have something to do with narrowboat culture.
