This video was gold! I looked at a lot of videos on the subject, but this was the best I have ever seen. It cleared up a lot of confusion I had on how to connect solar panels in the voltage range of the power station. This was the missing piece and it was explained in such a clear and simple manner. This video is going to help a lot of people. I would love to see a series of videos. Also I did not hear you say much about the flex panel. I would like to hear your thoughts on htem. I heard they don't last as long but I like that they are light weight and are useful in many applications. I am not sure yet about the price as compared to other folding and glass panels. This was a great video and much needed. Awesome information.

Thank you so much Jason! This is exactly the information explained in plain English that I needed. If only I'd had it months ago I would have saved so much time and energy, not to mention money. I know this wasn't an easy video to put together. I agree: hearing the information many times, we do begin to assimilate it. The key is having the fundamental concepts, the basics to build upon. This video fills that void. I really can't praise you enough for the effort you pit into it! Excellent!! I will definitely be pointing others to this video. (I already refer others to your channel.)

A couple of things I remain unclear on:
1) How important is it that the gauge of the extension cables and adapter cables match? My assumption is the extension cable should be the same gauge as the cable on the panel. If not the same, what are the tolerances and implications?

2) You mentioned that your XTAR came with MC4 connections. Did you mean the cable directly out of the panel? Mine did not; it uses the DC 8mm, which allows me to connect it directly to the Jackery without an adapter. (I do have at least 3 different sets of adapter cables, but I have lost track of what I bought separately and what came with my two power stations and two panel, so ... it is likely that one of those came with the XTAR. Just wondering if XTAR is selling panels with different direct connection types.)

Thanks!

Keep up the good work. Really making it easy for us newer folks to get into this. Should of watched this first compared to anyone on the internet. Even Hobotech lacks teaching people is a simple form.

Great video. Nice to get confirmation that a unit only draws the amps that it needs.

I have been trying to figure this question out for weeks now!! Thank you for simplifying everything in a nicely done video! I love contributors to YouTube that educate the layman. Hands down, best video yet pertaining to solar panels to solar generators. Thanks 🙏

I am new to this world of power stations and solar panels and this video was exceptional. I took notes because like you said it will take time for me to understand more fully the hows and whys. Thank you for your clear way of presenting the information. This video was excellent!

Section at 5:11 on the counter, is VERY helpful for understanding over voltage (frying out the machine)/ and open circuit voltage. Though most machines will stop 'frying' from happening. This video was helpful. Thanks!

Brilliant video completely understand what you are talking about in straight to the point language helped me a lot.

Great video for a solar newbie like me.😀 I would love to learn more about over paneling for those many cloudy winter days here in Ohio. With that, the sometimes needed parallel and series combinations. Hope I'm not way out in left field (or out of the ball park) with my thoughts on this.🤔 Thank you so much for all your great videos.👍

Thank you for the 101 series. It is wonderful to see such a summary of essential information. In future videos, I'd love to see two topics - how to match different panels (or even some tips on matching exactly the same panels); and considerations of gauge in adaptors and extension cables (for efficiency and safety). They are probably not exactly 101, but I faced those problems quite early on when gradually building up solar application. Again, excellent work!

More power stations 101 please. Great job!

Good one. You may want to add the case where a larger power station (e.g. the new Pecron) requires multiple panels in series to reach a minimum input voltage.

Finally a video that answered many of my solar panel questions!!! I am just starting to consider solar power for my pecron e1500lfp but most videos explain portable panels which I do not want. I am still not sure of the easiest way to get the power into the house without running cables through an open window or door. Excellent video.

A series for newbies...we need hand-holding. How long can you run a power station. Yes, it shows a drop meter, but say could I sew all day, or cook a turkey in small oven...practical stuff. Or, are the power stations best used for recharging? Practical use. You may have done this but I haven’t watched all your videos yet!

And yes.. Putting together different videos on different arrays and how they will and will not work with different Open Circuit voltage systems will inspire the newbs like myself. I am new and enjoy the education.

Thanks so much for such an educational video in laymen's terms! You are helping me to prepare for the next power outage which happens frequently in my area. My husband and I are not only caring for his 90+ year old parents but would also like to be able to assist others in their 55+ community.
