Victron MPPT ☀️Solar Controller ☀️with Bluetooth 📲 Installation & Review

MPPT solar controllers are the most efficient, however my old solar kit came with a PWM controller.

Then I saw Victron had just released their new solar controller with built-in bluetooth and it was at a great price too, so that was it. Order and installed within a few days, here's my review and installation video.

Just bought an old van and slowly doing it up. Thinking about my first ever purchase of a solar system and the Victron brand is up there as one of my top choices. Love how the app displays all the data so simply but the only thing I would say is that I'd love that level of detail on a permanent panel in the van. Would not enjoy having to connect a phone up via bluetooth all the time.

just fitted the same unit in my caravan on a 100 watt panel with a 130 amp lead acid panel the same make as yours probet works fine but im having a job finding the battery in the list and have looked every where to find the right setting in the battery settings

I think the 80W showing is what the Solar panel is generating - not to do with load ?? 80W from a 150 W panel in October in the UK for a panel that is flat on your van roof rather than at the perfect angle to the sun is pretty good though :-) Its good to have a controller that tells you what's going on, so you can see if there is an issue, or see the difference in where/how you park if your batteries are low too.

so the app doesn't show the real time solar panel information but only what the solar controller uses once the battery is under load/off float? I've noticed on mine the amp reading on the solar goes up when i turn the fan on

When charging must the battery make boiling noise?

Hello I have a question if I understand correcting that the more load that you put on your solar panel the more wattage it will produce

Hi John, thanks again for the video. I did learn something very useful. I did not know I could use my Truma heating system in fan only mode. Could be useful in the summer. Cheers

Hi I have the 75/15 installed but it’s not charging my leisure battery yet the app is saying it’s at 14 volts but I have taken the battery to 10.9 v and the app says 14 still. Any pearls of wisdom?

I may have missed it but what fuses did you put in between the panels and controller and what fuse did you use between the charger and battery? I have gone through the calculations and manual and feel I have got what I need but as you have the same set up being 150w panel and 75/15 controller I would like to check my working next to yours? I have 2 75w panels in parallel series giving me 150w so I have added 15a fuse in between panel and charger and then added a 20a in between the controller and battery? Hoping yours is the same lol. Appreciate if you can help. Thanks

hey man, thanks for your vid. I got a 200w panel connected to the mppt victron solar charge controller but i cant see generating any watts on the solar panel, even on a sunny day. Cables from solar panel to the charge controller are 2.5 tick...might have to be upgraded in order to get watts from the solar panel? Thanks

On the Victron, how can you tell what controller to use on a 200 watt panel compared to a 100 watt panel?

What size were the four wires? Thank you.

Does it have any settings in the app where you can be alerted if your battery voltage is getting too low?

I’ve got a weird question or maybe not!
I’ve got 4 panels 26 volts on 100 watts. Individually they run between 5-7 amps I have 2x 110 amp life4po batteries.(no problems)
So would it’s better to connect series or parallel? And would I get more amps when voltage reduced to the required 14.8 volts?
Thanks guys.😂

I'm just reading the specs on the MPPT 75/10 model it says a maximum PV power 135w can you plug a 300w solar panel into it and say on an ordinary day the panel might only run at 50% efficiency so 150w will this then give you your maximum pv power of 135w charge or will this wreck the charge controller from overloading input pv power? ps i dont have any equipment just trying to get a better understanding of how solar works
