I noticed this once when I was messing around with the ramp trying to go as slow as possible. It's funny that this ramp sequence with the perspective only happens this one time during the beginning of the game.

Basically, you know that one loop in Emerald Coast in Sonic Adventure 1 where you go through the loop then launch off a ramp? This is basically Sonic CD doing that many years before SA1 did.

I thought he was just running up a wall for some reason but it makes so much sense that it’s just a loop but with the camera following Sonic’s perspective

I mean I admit it took me a while to understand but I did get it long time ago. Awesome effect.
You can even see how the background (camera) moves from 2d to 3d perspective when getting into the loop, I used to play with that.

Not only does it have the best game play in a sonic game, it has stellar map design, and small details that make the game seem like an experience that goes beyond being just a game.
