These armies aim to protect and serve their nations, but are too small in numbers and weaponry to do any real damage in a world war.

At 4:05... the treaty to hand over the Panama Canal to the control of Panama was signed in 1979 but complete control wasn't finalized until 1999. The 1989 invasion had nothing to do with any of that.

I had a feeling Sierra Leone would be on here due to what Ishmael Beah said in his book in which he described his experience as a child soldier in that civil war & that even today it doesn’t stand a chance in the global scale

Costa Rica is another country with no military. After a military coup overthrew the government in 1948 the junta which took over abolished the military to prevent future coups and transferred power to an elected civilian government.

The narrator made a mistake in confusing the Country of Benin a former French speaking country that changed its name from Dahomey to Benin. The other Benin city, is the capital of Edo state in Nigeria . They both have same name but two different places. Please get that corrected.

there's a reason why every nation (including the U.S) that ever tried to pacify Somalia has failed. The clans and militias combine and fight any foreigners before going back to fighting each other

16:10 These figures are good, but contrasting them to a percentage of GDP would also be helpful. As 2% seems to be the goal amount for “wealthier nations”, I’m curious how this translates to these countries…

Absolutely you're right, I'm from Somalia, sadly the country civil war has destroyed almost everything and the country is fragmented, weak military has caused by interlogged politics and poor leadership, the country is under chapter 7 not a full sovereign is under the supervision of UN security council, it has lifted arms embargoes sanctions yesterday, 14 voted to lifted so Somalia will buy heavy weapons and armored vehicles, tanks, the country is destabilized by insurgents terrorists for more than a decade, i hope Somalia will eliminates Alshabaab terrorists, but I've doubt about lifting of arms embargo if the weapons and military capability fall on the hands of tribal clan militia's and fight against each other and the terrorists got through corruption because Somalia is one of the most corrupted country on earth, politicians and military commanders might exchange money to that vehicles and heavy military equipments, I think that time UNSC may again resume Arms embargo, I think I'm the only person from Somalia who is following you.
