The 17 different grades for GCSE Science explained.

I want to help you achieve the grades you (and I) know you are capable of; these grades are the stepping stone to your future. Even if you don't want to study science or maths further, the grades you get now will open doors in the future.

Oh I thought they will combine all the paper 1s and give u one grade and then they will combine all the paper 2s and give u another grade

Wait I am confused.
Don't they combine p1 grades which gives u one grade. And then paper 2 to give you another? That's what my teacher told me.
Let's say u got a 3 overall in paper 1 exams(coz u didn't revise) and a 5 overall in paper 2 exams wouldn't u have passed paper 2 exams? Or would it be a fail because of "3/5?"

What if you get all 5's in physics and biology and one 1 grade eg chemistry what will that be??

I've got a question. What if u get a grade 4 in modules 1-3 but get a grade 7 or 8 in modules 4-6. What grade would u get overall. Thank u

is 3/4 or 4/3 a pass or fail, do u need to get 4/4 to pass

For aqa 9-1 triple science, is it possible for the grade boundaries to be low as we are first year to be doing it?

I just worked it out, theres 45 different possibilities, because you arent counting the possibility of getting a grade 1 in the first papers and a 9 in the second papers and so on (for combined)

What if in paper 1 I got a grade 3 for example and that’s a fail, and in paper 2, I got a grade 5. Does that mean I get a grade 4-4 overall or 3-5?

This grade system has got me so worried as I now need 6-6 or higher and if I don’t I’m screwed to get into sixth form? 😟

I’m going into year 11. I did higher as my last test. However, I might be doing foundation now I’m not too sure. I’m not happy with foundation as I’m trying to aim for the top grades. I’ve refreshed and learnt new topics in science which I previously didn’t know of or was not sure of. I believe I have the potential to take on the higher papers and gain 6s if possible. What advice would you give me ? Should I take onboard the higher ? If yes, what am I expected to know.

This new grading system is so confusing My teacher said you get a grade for all Paper 1s and a grade for all Paper 2s....
