Playing electric after acoustic is the best feeling. You can clearly hear all the notes in your chords.

But you can go to acoustic if you started with an electric. It took me 17 years of electric before I got my first acoustic. It was kind of like learning guitar again 😉

I will never forget that time when I was 14 when I transitioned from acoustic to electric, I felt that I could play more songs that I wouldn't of played with acoustic

I played the electric guitar for about 8 years before i got my first acoustic. My god that transition was so brutal.

love both equally but I think starting on electric made me appreciate the acoustic more. the tougher battles feel more rewarding, idk if its age but its warm and rewarding while electric is smooth and chaotic feeling (both cool sensations)

I started from Acoustic to Electric. Switch back and forth because its fun.
But if I were to give a brief description how it feels like every time you switch, Electric -> Acoustic is like NEW GAME+ on video games. Where you know the chords, but with harder fretboard to play and thicker strings.

Going from acoustic to electric was beautiful for me, highly recommended for beginners

I started on acoustic and played on one for years before I went to electric. There’s something so special about hearing and feeling the body resonate. I’d rearrange my favorite songs (usually The Cure) for acoustic, making use of the open strings to make my one guitar do the work of an entire band plus all the effects. I think my approach to playing nowadays, with open ringing chords and drone notes and all that, came from learned how to do the electric things without using electricity.

That said, my electrics are out far more often than my acoustic.

There is no going back - until you get a 335 and realize you can do both at once
Pretty chords on the neck, Tube Screamer on the bridge

I’d like to try acoustic now, having played electric for 2 years now

hell, maybe even classical because I like fingerpicking

Started on a crappy old acoustic with action set way too high and am forever grateful for that 😂

That hits hard. I remember discovering the overdrive button on my first practice amp a few days after getting it and not understanding why my guitar didn't sound electric, then everything changed.

Literally me. I tried a classmate's tele in early 2020 and ended up getting my own strat about 9 months ago. Haven't touched my acoustic in at least a year

"I've never felt like this before"... That was exactly what I felt when I played electric for the first time.

I have been playing and training my acoustic guitar, but I haven't played an electric guitar yet... One day, I really want to take an electric guitar and just take a solo as I do with my acoustic... I don't know how it will be for me, but I hope It will be AWESOME for sure. As more I hear an electric guitar sound, more I feel like playing it.

Played an acoustic for the first half year or so and now been playin both for like 2/3 years, love them both. Really like the acoustic for complex chords and to sing and play harmonica over.
