It’s sad yoda thought he was the problem. It saddens me to know that he chose exile instead of making up for it. He could’ve helped train Luke and Leila( I know he trained Luke on daghoba) but it’s just depression hit him like a bomb

I always assumed it was just his retirement, and the only thing he had left to do was to train Luke. Guy's fighting days were over.

The real reason is that he had a vision during his duel with Sidious. He realized that he was playing against his strengths by fighting Sidious as a warrior. He could only defeat him as a teacher.

But Yoda helped the rebellion with their biggest weapon that broke the Empire, Luke Skywalker.

How can you blame someone who lived for 900 years he lived in a time he bearly knew war and conflict he wasnt prepared for it he was more or less acustom to tomes of peace then that of war and conflict. Honestly if i were on his shoes i would have done the same. Carrying the woeght of everything that was entrusted to him to have it all fall apart. Its a sad tragic moment in his life. Yoda qas conected so strongly to the force and his fellow jedi cause he knew them for so long.

He was a coward. Many other Jedi way less powerful fought for what they lived for and died for it, remaining loyal to themselves. Yoda should have gave the example and led the Rebellion but instaed he got depressed and didnt react to his mistakes. He could have avoided billions deaths if he had the will to act.

I refuse to believe this, because he's the master that taught Luke Skywalker. Because it would make sense why Luke became like Yoda, a pessimist drunk person in the sequel trilogy. I think this is Disney comics canon, not George Lucas canon. For me, I think Yoda just waited the right moment of the will of the Force to make him act on something like the ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn told him, the galaxy is on the hands of the Skywalker twins, when Luke arrived to him, he released the purpose of his exile, something like that.

Even wise men can be wrong. In this case, Yoda was wrong. He could have hunted and defeated Vader with ease. Then he could have hunted the emperor and while that battle would have been difficult, he could have had a chance at defeating the empire. Instead, he let them wreak havoc on the galaxy for decades.

So sad that yoda went into depression. Only to be in a happy mood when we meet him in EPSB.

He could also be easily felt and located through the force, that's why he hid on Dagobah. It had a strong dark side presence (the cave) that masked Yoda's presence.

Tbf he would stand out like a sore thumb. Not only is he one of the last jedi around, he's possibly the last of his race. He would be a huge target ( ironic)
