Oh No, Not My Baby CAROLE KING (with lyrics)

The song was first recorded by The Shirelles. But they took the unusual approach of alternating the lead vocals between themselves, and the record label decided the result was unreleasable. The first released version was by Maxine Brown, who took the Shirelles' recording, erased their vocals and overdubbed her own (with Dee Dee Warwick helping out on the chorus). Lots of other artists have covered this song, notably (in Britain) Manfred Mann and Rod Stewart, but here's the version by the lady who wrote it.
