Visual Studio Code and Atom are some of the most popular text editors for programming.
Let's compare both to see which one is the better choice.

Note: Since Atom has been sunset at the end of 2022 it is no longer recommended!

3:10, video finished. Atom is discontinued since end of 2022. Respect the viewer's time.

Wait, if you think about it, both code editors are made/owned by microsoft because git hub is owned by microsoft and it made atom and vs code is made by microsoft.

Both text editors are great options, but if I had to choose one, I'd recommend Visual Studio Code because of its better performance, advanced features, and broad programming language support. Atom has been discontinued since late 2022 and has a plugin-based approach, which may affect its performance. Although Atom is completely open source, Visual Studio Code has proprietary parts, but is more intuitive and easy to use for users of any level.

hmm hard to choose since vscode now suck really bad autopep8, black, yaf, prettier no longer works in vscode you cant save(ctrl+s)(alt+shift+F) autoformatting, you can try to right click then choose format with but it will say there is no formatter installed. so i tried (ctrl+, ) to make sure the default formatter is download from vscode extension) but sadly it still says no formatter installed.
