BEST 3 Text Editors for Coding...And Why?

Today I want to share my top 3 text editors and why.

I provide 2 pros and 1 con for each text editor while comparing them all against each other. I try not to cover features that all 3 share in common. Enjoy!

Trying out different text edtiors and returning to VSCode feels like coming home from a trip. It is all about what helps you to work faster and easier. There is no objectively good or bad in this matter.

I love sublime text it never goes slow or laggy so fast and smooth and light

I didn't like Atom when I tried it. And it took ages to launch.
VSCode didn't rob me from Sublime, but I use it sometimes. It's pretty good, and the code completion is excellent.
Sublime is still my favorite. I'm more productive in it than anything else I tried, and as a bonus, its memory footprint (and of SublimeMerge) is really low, which is something my Potato Computer really appreciates.

Thanks for the review, I just switched from Atom to VS Code and I'm honestly liking it better but they are both excellent editors.

I am new in coding and I have only used sublime text and note pad.

I have used Atom for years now and have modded it exactly to my liking but I have to admit that is can be rather slow and the autocomplete/intellisense/etc leaves a lot to be desired. I don't want to leave Atom though. Just wish it would get some better updates. It feels like it's being held together by scotch tape.

Most devs after using them switch from Sublime to VS code, just like they do from Eclipse to IntelliJ Idea.
Yes Sublime is faster than VS Code, so is barebones Eclipse than IntelliJ, but devs nowadays work with powerful machines, so the speed difference is negligible, whereas the productivity difference is huge.

I have to say First that im just a beginner in coding. But i tried VScode and Atom and i felt like Atom is a bit more lightweight and not that much overwhelming like VS was for me. Including the Script package, the virtualenvironment package and the Python support it has everything what i need actually. Another +Point is the nice Git integration in Atom, it felt like it's a bit smoother than in VS.

But im sure i will start using VScode when it maybe comes to bigger Projects ^^ because of integrated debugging, many extensions, the integrated terminal and the ez way to run Code.

So for me, both of them having their own awesome features.

I think Sublime looks awesome too but i prefer to start as free as possible :), maybe i will give it a try in future :).

Thanks. I have chosen VSCode because of you. Atom is closing shop, no longer accepting JS code.

The bad thing about Sublime is that when we open a folder and we click on ''New File'' but instead of that another window is added and we have to give it Control + S to save and put the file name
