My dad's wife rescued a possum once, she found him injured and clearly just having trouble so she gave him to a wildlife care/rehab place. He couldn't be released back in the wild, but he was super sweet and friendly so apparently he became a... er... I can't remember what I'd call it... an... ambassador? But he'd be the guy who'd be shown to kids. Eventually he passed away, I don't know how old he was, and I also don't fully know about his condition, but at least he got a comfortable life.

I raised a lil bald baby robin once, and it took up my whole summer but it was a great experience. It had fallen out of it's nest. I taught it to fly by putting it on my mom's clothes line. I mushed up worms in warm water and sucked it up an eye dropper. I let it back into the wild and it would see me once in awhile and land on my shoulder months later.

I love possums. They are prehistoric, slow, don't live long and may not be the handsomest. That's why they need more love. I am glad you understand the bone disease they can get, so many people don't make sure they get right food to stop it. Best to you and your possum-dog !!

Yes, Opposums make great pets. They are smart and sweet! I rescued mine from being hit by car...I adore her.

I was really scared of possums until some babies decided to move under my apartment. This changed my whole attitude about them. The first time I saw a possum up close I thought it was dead and it got up and hissed at me. That scared the crap outta me. But these babies moved in and it really changed my mind about them. And I am an animal lover. I believe every living being has a purpose in life including possums. I am so happy she took care of him and loved him the way she does. It seems people are more into destroying everything nature made rather than take care of it.
