How to Change the Base of a Logarithm (Precalculus - College Algebra 61)

preview_player
Показать описание
How to use the Change of Base formula to change the base of any logarithm into any other desired base. This is very useful for solving logarithms where bases are not inherently the same and for evaluating logarithms with most calculators where the base is not 10 or e.

Newton himself wouldn't be able to teach pre-cal and calculus as elegantly and beautifully as you do, sir. Much respect and gratitude!

In all seriousness, Thank You so much Professor for teaching Maths so incredibly beautifully and consistently.

Professor Leonard, thank for another great video/lecture on How to Change the Base of a Logarithm, however the equal signs are missing in the examples. The reason why I continue to point this out is that I am taking notes while watching the video. When I review my notes, I like to read something that makes sense mathematically.

Professor Leonard, I found your video, "The Future". In it you said you would have a linear algebra course and a contemporary math such as financial mathematics. I am wondering where the course is located since the video was made in 2018.

Wait, wait, wait. Why can't we treat a quotient of logs with the same base as a subtraction? So when do we know whether to subtract, or when to change base?
