I'm really glad Google came out with this great solution for the C Wire. Much easier then rewiring a brand new wire.

You made this process SO EASY! Ill admit it was pretty huge for me going inside my furnace to do the wiring but it was SO SIMPLE!!! Anyone can do this: Don't psych yourself out people. Just do it. The Nest thermostat is working perfectly and looks Great!

FREE POWER CONNECTOR!! I didn’t know I needed one since I don’t have a C wire but thankfully while setting up my Nest Thermostat on the phone it gives you a link to them to have one shipped out completely free!

Great explanation. I want to add two nests to my house. I have 5 zones and two are going to be nest thermostats. Do I need one of those c wire replacement items for each thermostat?

Fun little tidbit of info I learned about when setting mine up. Some systems have a "kill switch" behind the access panel. So if you're trying to test the thermostat and you're getting a no power error try closing up the access panel first.

Did this at my house! If you get Confused on what wires you have my first recommend to go to your Nest remove the nest and take a picture of what wires are connected to the thermostat because they’re the same wires that are down in your basement take a picture of that go down to your basement furnace and compare the wires colors and all of the diagram in the instructions and you can do it very easy took like 20 minutes definitely better than putting a new wire for your thermostat! You can do it!

I have an older 2 wire heat only boiler to baseboard radiators with 4 zones. Would this be compatible in my system? It does have a control board but not like yours.

Such a great video and enormously helpful. Alas, what happens when you have more than one wire into the furnace terminals? The video shows/tells to pull out a wire from the terminal and replace with one from the power connector. I have two reds into the C terminal, two whites into the W1 and a blue and a white into the Y. Yikes! Don't know which to pull and which to leave. Thoughts?

The readings you don't understand at 4:35 are the actual voltages being detected. Vin is the A/C voltage coming into the Power Connector from the transformer on the furnace. The lin I am assuming is for Line voltage in, which looks like DC voltage, minus a decimal point. 3.85 volts DC would be about right to charge the battery and keep the WiFi connected. Nest says the WiFi will drop out if the voltage goes below 3.8 volts. The other two numbers at the bottom??? I don't know. Y looks like a repeat of lin. YP might be how many squirrels are living in your attic...

I have a 3 zone thermostat and I'm not quite sure where my c connection is to do the wiring. Any suggestions?

I wonder if the Nest Power Connector would work with the 1st Gen Nest Learning Thermostat?

The description was perfect. Just one thing remained. So after connecting all those wires and double-checking them, you should go back to your Google Home/ Nest App and update your wiring to remove that error N260 notification. Go to Google Home>Thermostat>Thermostat Setting>Thermostat (under Device features)>Wiring>Update wiring

Is the lux power bridge the same as this power connector? I have a lux geo currently installed with the power bridge and the thermostat runs with no batteries at all. I tried to install the Google thermostat but it would say it didn't have enough power. Did you still keep the battery in the Google thermostat after installing the power connector?

I have a oil boiler and separate AC air handler. Will this work on just the AC unit?

What is the purpose of the c wire and red wire that was already connected to c and y terminal? It was separate cabe with just two wires the other cable with 4 wires goes to thermostat. I have red and white wires connected to control board that are separate from cable running to thermostat … I take the blue cable and connected it to nest power adapter and leave the other red cable connected to y terminal + cable from nest power adapter?

THANK YOU! Glad you said to double check. I did. BUT, somehow i missed that i put the C connector into the G slot. so i had to go back and do that. DUH! 💥ONE THING TO MENTION tried to check the nest to make sure everything was good BEFORE i put the cover back on. That said, without the cover the lever that makes the orange light come on (which shows everything is good to go on the HVAC) nest would not detect it. So, i DID have to put the inner cover back on first to check it. And *poof* all wires detected and connected per nest. I checked the power and it was slowly going up when not in use. so YAAAAYYY!!! THANK YOU for your great video. I watched the video supplied from google and it seemed much more complicated. Yours made it super duper simple! THANK YOU!

Those nest connectors fail in a year or two and most likely causing high ticket repairs to your HVAC systems. Cheap fixes cost more long-term.
