I'm an American and I was with my Australian friend in Spain, and we decided to be weird and speak gibberish to each other to freak the Spanish people out and make them really think we're foreign. Anyways, we were on separate busses and did it over the phone, and we spoke in english a bit but in random funny accents. I didn't realize the Spanish guy behind me spoke English so after I got off the phone with her, he asked where I was from. (Since it was all bullshit, I freaked out and said New Zealand because I had watched this video not long ago) so I had to keep this accent up for about an hour talking with this person on the bus. Okay there's my story. Haha. I'm silly.

great, informative vid. i'm an american, and i love new zealand, australian, british, and scottish accents. hard for me to distinguish between nz and australian accents sometimes. amazed how many foreign actors can totally nail an american accent, but can't say i've ever heard an american actor consistently perfect one of the aforementioned accents.

Great video mate, I'm from Denmark on the island of zealand, actually exactly halfway across the world from NZ. I have a sister that moved to New Zealand roughly ten years ago, we've went to visit a few times and the kiwi accent just kinda stuck.

To me it sounds like if Australian is a mash between England and USA english, then New Zealand is a mash between Australian and Scottish english
