As an American I can confirm all of these statements to be 100% true. Also what we use to haul stuff on is also called a 'Trailer' like the New Zealand term.

As an American, I love watching people from other places try to do an American accent. Now that I'm learning a second language and have lots of friends in other countries, I've actually started to hear my American accent when I speak sometime, which is always funny.

Both of those are trailers. Americans love to use the same term for a multitude of things. We just like the potential confusion I guess haha. Also, I think "chilly bin" is a WAY better name for a cooler.
