Ben, the Legion Pro 5i series comes with HX processors, not just H. So it's 13700HX instead of 13700H, and I gotta say the difference is huge.

Yeah he did say the Ryzen version of the Legion Pro 5 version was better. But you also have to realize what "Better" means for you and the use case he was talking about. Keeping in mind any of the Mid to Highend range laptops are all within a couple performance points from each other. Unless you go with any RTX 4080 or 4090 version which are going to be really highend desktop replacement laptops anyway. He mentioned in regards to the Legion 5 Pro AMD version with 7745HX/4070 it was the better version compared to the i7 Intel version because of Battery Life Performance on top of plug-in performance. Honestly that was the reason I got that version for my wife with the better 500nit screen and just bought a 32 gig kit on amazon to replace the 16 gigs it came with. With that it'll easily be a 5 year laptop for my wife for Graphic Design and Tutorial Crochet Videos. End of the day its a laptop still, so upgradability is the number one feature, being able to upgrade RAM and M.2's is what will get you the most out of it. Hence why I replaced the 16 gigs with a 32gig Crucial 5600mhz kit, and already seeing big gains in Adobe Suite and OBS. Just my 43 year old two cents.

Still waiting on the Legion 7 Pro comparisons of AMD and Intel. Hope it comes soon!

Hard disagree, AMD is just better. 78/7940HS are cheaper and more efficient with better battery at the lower price range, whilst at the high end the 7945HX is much beefier than the equivalent i9 HX's

Thanks for your more adult oriented reviews of mobile devises Ben. I was able to get my wife a Legion Pro 5 with 7745HX/4070. I went with the 16gig model which had the better HDR 400 Screen and just got a 32 gig kit of Crucial memory. Since we live in North Carolina where Lenovo is it came in about 2 days! I was able to use my "...." Employee Perks that my job has and get about $85 discount on top of the Pre-Black Friday Sale the had this past week which took it down to $1399 total.

hello, which one to chose :
11AX (2x2) & Bluetooth® 5.1
or
Wi-Fi 6E 11AX (2x2) & Bluetooth® 5.1
(both with the same price) what is the difference ?
one more question, can i use the lenovo 95W type c charger with the legion pro 5 gen8 ?
is it worth it to pay an extra 100euros to get the rgb keyboard version ?
thank you.

Can i ask a question i cant deside wich laptop to buy. In my country they cost the same price. Asus rog strix g 17 with rtx 4070 and ryzen 9 7845hx 512gb and 16 ram (cons of the laptop weight /might be a bit to big for travelling/everyday use, the brightness of the dispay is only 300 nits) The other option is lenovo legion slim 7 with the same gpu but it has an i9 13900h 32gb ram and 1tb ssd) It has everything batterly life slim design bright screen, lightweight and an sd card reader. I dont know if i have to trade all of these tho for a better cpu... Also i will have to upgrade the ram to 32 gb in th erog strix 17. Please gimme your thoughts!!

I recently bought Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16ARX8 16" Ryzen 7 7745HX GeForce RTX 4060 16GB 1TB SSD W11 for $861 certified refurbished comes with 2 year warranty, I’d say it’s worth the price for its performance

Damn, your discount code doesn't stack with ongoing discount codes running on their website for Black Friday sales, effectively making the code worthless as its a lower discount than those already in effect for most items on the site at present. (Been planning to pick up the Slim 5 14" for a while, just waiting on the right discount combination)

What’s the difference between Legion Pro and Slim versions? Looking to buy a laptop for my daughter’s animation course using Maya Blender…

thanks for sharing. I have a question. For content creation which would be the best option. LEGION PRO 5 2023 i7-13700HX 64GB 1TB SSD + 2TB SSD RTX4070 vs. LEGION PRO 7 2023 i9-13900HX 64GB 1TB SSD + 2TB SSD RTX4070 Taking into account that the difference in price is approximately Basically the same laptop, but I understand that the PRO 7 has a better screen refresh rate, the better casing being made of aluminum, higher frequency RAM, and of course the processor is better... But if the budget is tight the question is... Is it really worth paying for those additional 450 USD in exchange for what do you receive? Taking into account that I need it for work, content creation and moving heavy design, editing, rendering programs, etc... Thank you very much in advance.

Costco was selling a 5i pro with 13700hx 4060 1tb drive and 32gb....for 999$ absolute STEAL idk if i could consider a better deal/option in the last 5 years NGL. Pretty amazed at some of the prices/on sale ranges some of these newer laptops are going to these days considering the 4060 is around on par on mobile to desktop. And what 1000-1100$ would get you at the most with a 1tb drive in the past was a 1660ti and later production cycle 2060 options....into a 140w 3060 legion 5 microcenter exclusive when on sale. When you look at the state of GPU pricing for budget-midrange on desktop youre far better off sniping a deal like that 999$ one as your temporary gaming solution while waiting for intels next socket/chipset...and the future generation of GPUS/SKU to launch. By then youll still have a stellar mobile solution/workstation and a more price impactful desktop/platform and pricing access. If i were going back to school id easily sell my OLED HP omen with 100w 2070s, for that lenovo deal. 1tb, 32gb and QHD for 999$ and it has a 4060 and HX processor you cant beat that and i doubt a better deal will ever come until the next generation of laptops launch and subsequently drop the pricing of the ones to be discontinued.

Hi...Thanks for review.
Can someone please help me with two configs? (different in CPU)
In 9th gen, is Intel still a better choice?
Thanks.
