Great! since i might be the only engineer in Cyprus to use sketchup professionally, when everybody else is using Revit, i will find this helpful in 2023.. Keep it up!

This is the BEST upgrade to SketchUp in a long time. Now i can finally shut the haters up and show them what modeling is really about!

I learn so much from your videos. Thanks.

This is awesome! Thanks. Now can you find a way to have the text from AutoCAD files import into a SU model?

I upgraded to the Studio version to access this, however it doesn't import .RFA (revit) files. In my experience, 90% of product databases have their files available in a .rfa format not .rvt. Is there a way to import .rfa without having to own Revit as well?

I have tried importing a revit file following your instructions, but once the import starts after a few seconds a windows appears saying that: The version of the Revit file is not supported.

Is there a way to import Revit family, (RFA) into Sketchup Studio? If so, I can't find it. It would be helpful as a lot of manufacturers provide revit family files.

Can it work with additional BIM software?
As All Plan etc.

When I attempt to import my Revit file it imports about 5 elements and then says "This file is not supported". Any thoughts on this? Currently using SU Pro 2023 and Revit 2024

Nice one, Aaron. I can emphasise how easy the import process is, and unlike sometimes with the AutoCAD import process, the Revit import function flys through without hiccups or items being ignored. At least that was my experience during the Beta testing for SU2023; I put it through the rigours of 15 Revit files for one complex building, totalling over 2GB, and with 100% success imported them all into Sketchup 2023 in just under 20 minutes. Bravo! That helps my workflow a lot. The thing as always to be wary of, make sure the person or company who sends you that Revit file, really understands CAD coordinates and where the building origin needs to be .... Sketchup can't correct that for you if it's wrong already in Revit.

that's great! I used to export my revit's file to dwg (3D) and then import to sketchup. This way is really better!

Can you reload the revit file and reload on skp without missing changes?

I did it with Revit 2024 version and Sketchup 23.1.340, this error appears:

Revit File:

The version of the Revit file is not supported.

Will importing revit families ever be possibility? I do some HVAC design and would like to bring in models of equipment which is primarily in a RFA file format

When I bought Pro2023 today and went to download it it gave me Studio options for download. I forgot about the Revit Plugin, is it too late to get it. Should I just reinstall?

I would certainly get the studio subscription if it was available for Mac and also adressed proper ifc and dwg handling. The renderers and all the other stuff I dont care that much about, but ok, I would pay for them as well, and a revit importer I would use from time to time, if ifc and dwg got fixed. Ifc layers into sketchup, and 2d dwg "tags to layers" out of sketchup.

I have been using Sketchup for the last 4 years to design processing equipment and find it impossible to share Sketchup model with Solidworks users, is there a work around or perhaps like Revit something in development to export to help, im sure im not the only Sketchup user that has this issue.
