The klingon war was first depicted in FASA's Star Trek RPG. known as the 4 Years war. It is where prelude of Axanar got their ideas and ship designs from.

I'm a little surprised that you included the Axanar fan film since
1) The fan film was never made
2) The story was lifted from an earlier RPG from FASA supplement entitled "Return To Axanar"
and
3) Neither fan films nor RPGs are considered canon

But all that aside, this is a terrifying summary of my favourite century in the Trek universe :-)
